'Solace' is a fashion film "exploring the relationship between a young girl and an Angel of Death". More importantly, it features music by Chelsea Wolfe - a stunning Revelator remix of her song 'Virginia Woolf Underwater', to be more precise. I should probably mention that the fashion was custom designed for the project by BK Phillips. Directed by Charlene Bagcal. HQ Nightclub and HQ Day Club at Revel are beginning to make waves in Atlantic City. The hotel-nightclub combo recently announced Calvin Harris as one of their resident DJ's but are not stopping there. In hopes of attracting more fans to the city and their venue, Revel has added Dirty South to it's expanding roster. The Serbian-Australian DJ also has the resident title and is set to perform five dates throughout the year - the first scheduled for this summer. Glamming up Atlantic City is a big undertaking but it seems Revel is off to a good start. [...]

90s-era post-hardcore/emo outfit Sense Field has confirmed the long-standing rumours that they would be reuniting for the upcoming celebration of Revelation Records ' 25th Anniversary. The show is a one-time reunion set for June 7th at The Glass House in Pomona, CA. The band is promising a set assembled from their three 90s-era Revelation Records albums - 1994's Sense Field , 1994's Killed For Less , and 1996's Building . After their time on Revelation, they signed to Warner Music Group and released [...]

Atlantic City is certainly stepping up its game with the opening of Revel , billed as a Las Vegas style resort on the Jersey shore. Today brings the announcement that Dirty South will be a resident at the resort's HQ Nightclub and Day Club, which follows on the heels of the news from yesterday that Calvin Harris will also have a residency at HQ. Beyond the nightclub scene, Revel also revealed last week that Avicii would be the first electronic music performer to be on stage at the hotel's [...]
Atlantic City, New Jersey is probably best described as Las Vegas's deadbeat little brother. It lives in the shadow of its far superior counterpart, attempting to mimic the Vegas ideology and grandeur but without any of the panache. However, HQ Nightclub and HQ Beach Club at Revel are attempting to change that image by introducing a variety of sleeker events at their more sophisticated venues. To get the ball rolling they've just announced that Calvin Harris has been named their resident DJ. Harris, who has captivated listeners with his productions will now captivate HQ club attendees with five [...]
Smithsonian Folkways just dropped a last minute surprise on us for Jazz Appreciation Month. In 1971, the inventive cornet and ...

Swedish electro-pop outfit Miike Snow has transcended as wunderkinds of the musical kingdom since their inception in 2007. With their self-titled first album being a compilation of masterful singles, if you would, with "Animal," "Cult Logic," "Black & Blue" and "Silvia" to name a few and having received A-list remix treatment from the likes of Sebastian Ingrosso & Dirty South, Mark Ronson and Caspa, Miike Snow is no stranger to the worldwide dance scene. Their amicable tunes seem to get just about anyone's head rocking back and forth, and for many may even burst them into an vivacious [...]

Seattle's Kiss It Goodbye have announced a reunion, including a handful of west coast shows this June. The Revelation Records act, featuring members of Rorschach and Deadguy , originally called it quits in 1998. The band released a statement regarding the comeback, saying, "After calling it quits in 1998 and more than a half dozen attempts at a jump start since then, Kiss It Goodbye have returned to active band status. Original members Tim Singer and Thom Rusnak never stopped trying to breathe life back into the band.[...] It [...]
Ce soir, on pourrait presque se croire à la soirée SM mensuelle du Macumba Club. Mais non, c'est Black Box Revelation au Nouveau Casino.

Dylan Baldi scratches a lot of rock n’ roll itches with his songwriting work as Cloud Nothings. His early work plucking songs into a cassette recorder harkened back to early Guided by Voices lo-fi, while Cloud Nothings’ self-titled 2011 album reveled in sugary splashes of indie guitar rock. Their latest effort, the Steve Albini-produced (ahem, sorry, “recorded”) Attack on Memory specializes in lean, muscular, post-punk. All this development is even more impressive given the fact that Baldi hasn’t even reached drinking age yet. Cloud Nothings will be performing on March 22nd at MOTR, and it’s certainly a show [...]

(Hitler learns he's not on Grey Area's setlist...I found this while looking for Grey Area on youtube. I love the internet.)Yesterday was completely ridiculous. After heading to the Philly's piazza to watch a free Newfound Glory show (I don't think I've ever seen so many fights break out), then Philly's shit show "Makeout Club", I headed over to the Fire to catch melodic hardcore legends Grey

Like a gang-bang porn, sometimes 4 artists come together to create something incredibly beautiful. When I heard that Black Numbers was releasing a 4 way split between Grey Area, The Reveling, The Copyrights, and Luther, the word anticipation would be an understatement. Shit, I would have picked this up for the two Grey Area tracks alone even if the rest of the songs were flatulence as

Just had an enjoyable first run with this new 4-Way split release featuring The Copyrights, Grey Area, The Reveling and Luther. The release follows up The Copyrights' 2011 album, North Sentinel Island , on Red Scare. This is also the follow up to Grey Area's split 73 with Go Rydell, Luther's Siblings & Sevens 123 and The Reveling's Tributaries album. listen: The Copyrights: "The New Frontier" Grey Area: "Lucky" Luther: [...]
