Psychedelic revivalism seems to be a hot genre these days. London's Antimatter People are no stranger to it, but don't cast them with the rest of the crowd. In an era when most psych acts opt follow a retro, lo-fi approach to their music, Yehan Jehan's outfit opts for a crisp sound and production style - reminiscent of Pink Floyd at their finest - which ironically does more justice to their forerunners than do their compatriots. Give "Mossy Grounds" a listen below and you'll see what we mean. STREAM: Antimatter People - "Mossy Grounds"

Reminiscent of PNAU , the latest Goldroom track, featuring Merekei Beach , is funky fun and fucking great music to have on while doing chores. It makes you want to do things. You know, be productive and shit. Swear words! Enjoy.

Tony Baines behind the boards with Agacee and Naledge inside the booth? Best believe some quality music will be made, but just in case you need some type of evidence, look no further than the brand new track "Revival", which you can stream below. Life Of A Scholar coming soon.
The Revival are a three piece band who met whilst at University in Cheltenham. Made up of drummer Phil Beastall, bass player Ryan Kent and singer and guitarist Arfyn Rhys Ruhonah. The band see themselves as the quintessential rock and roll band merging style, attitude and melodies, with more than just a subtle nod to songwriter Arfyn Rhys Ruhonah's musical influences. To say The Revival are simply an indie rock band would be grave injustice, as their already vast musical cannon contains heartbreaking acoustic ballads ranging to balls out rock monsters. Flying the flag for 'real music' and with barrels [...]

Murder by Death and Man Man will be co-headlining the Southgate House Revival on February 21. Murder by Death is touring in support of their sixth release, Bitter Drink, Bitter Moon. In other news, the band made headlines for becoming the third most-funded music project in Kickstarter's history, raising nearly $200K through the crowdfunding platform. I'd be kind of pissed if I helped a band raise, like, 100x my income only to make a shitty album. Fortunately though, the band's full length debut on Bloodshot Records has received positive coverage. Paste Magazine called Bitter Drink, [...]
The latter part of the last decade saw a resurge in popularity of the NWOBHM and thrash metal sounds of the '80s. Cauldron emerged during this revival, and and now with its third studio release, Tomorrow's Lost , this Canadian heavy metal band's love for the muetal has managed to survive all trends. PopMatters explores further... As time passes by, trends come and go that impinge on every facet of popular culture. And even though metal has prided itself on being far removed from the conformist attitudes of what is considered "trendy" amongst the masses, metal too has [...]

This weekend hometown heroes Heartless Bastards returned for a two night stand at the Southgate House Revival in Newport, Kentucky. ENS photographer Keith Klenowski was on hand and took these photos and a video from the show. The video is of a new song the band did for a film called Winter in the Blood. [...]

Ralph's been a member of the Online Festival almost from day one and watched it grow over the last few months as Indie bands, artists, producers, music bloggers and fans have joined and created an online musical community. The Online Festival is free to join and its sole purpose is to promote unsigned music via Social Media so artists that would normally struggle to find an audience can be heard and enjoyed. [...]

Drunk Music Reviews is exactly what it sounds like: Caitlin Behle reviews shows while progressively getting drunker, while illustrator John Sebastian turns the drunken reviews, which could be ridiculous, sloppy or just plain insulting, into a comic. The captions that end with @ drunkmusicrevws were pulled from their Twitter account during the show. Tweets ending with J are reviews from John, while tweets ending with C are from Caitlin. The chart at the bottom of every illustration shows the drink tallies for the night. Somehow Drunk Music Reviews survived another [...]

Assuming a meteor doesn't obliterate Earth or the ice caps don't flood us out, you're invited to spend New Year's Eve at the Southgate House Revival. All three rooms will host the 10-band lineup headlined by The Pinstripes. Personally, I can't think of a better place to spend NYE than with The Pinstripes, The Guitars, Green Room Rockers, The Mudpies, The Frankl Project, Homemade Drugs, Mardou, Quailbones, The Yugos, and Molly Sullivan. I wonder if I'll survive into the new year if I do a Holy Roller shot between every set. Tickets are available [...]

After honing their craft for several years, Dr. Dog hit gold with their fifth studio album, Fate - an album dripping with classic rock revivalism. Pick any band from The Bealtes to The Beach Boys to The Zombies and you'll have picked an artist that has to have had some inkling of an effect on this album. Yet, it isn't a copycat. It has it's own charm that couldn't be found anywhere else at the time of Fate's release. It jingles, it jangles and it's easy like Sunday morning. Most [...]

Binoculers - There Is Not Enough Space In The Dark Schne Stimme und schne Musik. Es ist besinnlich, ruhige Musik. Zeit zum Luft holen, inne halten. Minimalistischer Indie-Folk aus Hamburg. Nadja Rdebusch nennt sich Binoculers und hat ber Insular Musik ihr zweites Album "There Is Not Enough Space In The Dark" verffentlicht.
"The Revival" is the anthemic title track from the November 13 album by New Orleans roots/rockers Ben Labat and the Happy Devil . With a sound that could be easily squeezed in between Springsteen and Mellencamp, Labat and band turn "The Revival" into one of those roll-down-the-windows, sing-a-long barn burners that grab you with big hooks -- witness the killer guitar lines even before you think about the chorus -- and an even bigger, amped up sound. As the song goes, yes, they "had us all along." [...]

CincyPunk Fest celebrates its 11th year at the new Southgate House Revival this weekend. The festival marks the new venue's grand opening after their original grand opening was pushed back due to "construction challenges," according to Morrella Raleigh in an official announcement. CincyPunk Fest emerged as a major local music showcase and philanthropy effort; the event has raised nearly $50,000 for a number of local charities over the years. The festival, started in 2003 by music fan Adam Rosing, will boast 36 bands this weekend across all three stages at the Southgate House Revival. CincyPunk Fest [...]
