I'm gonna take it back to the old school for a hot second. In 1988 the Rumours Riddim dropped and took the dancehall scene by storm. Originally produced by Augustus "Gussie" Clarke this has become one of the most classic dancehall riddims to date with numerous re-workings of it surfacing in the last 20 years. The infectious bass line is just way too rude and is sure to make you move your feet. The biggest drop on the riddim may be up for debate but in my mind Lady G just kills everything with her cut "Nuff Respect". [...]
Here's a new one from Serani. The song is entitled "When It's Cold" and it's off the School Bell Riddim . It's a bubbly-bouncy mid-tempo track with Serani trying to win over the attention of some lady with constant praise and promises of protection. It's nothing super but it's a nice track to listen to. The Baddazz Riddim is the latest dancehall creation from Christopher Birch. Some are claiming this riddim to be a re-work of the classic Joyride Riddim. Re-work or not, this is definitely a dancefloor smasher as the catchy upbeat bassline is just going to make you move, plain and simple. One of my favorite reggae cuts of all time comes from a group called The Abyssinians.
