Over the past five years Foamo has carved himself out a powerful niche in UK club music, with his takes on house drawing strong influence from growing up with drum & bass, garage and grime. On his new "Release Me" EP the presence of those styles is as tangible as ever – sub-bass is hard, punchy and optimized to rattle through the chest; drums are swung to a lean garage flex – and they’re put to the service of some of the most multifaceted music he has produced to date. [...]
TONIGHT, Huxley will join us for our first Ibiza showcase of the summer in collaboration with We Love at the legendary Space, where he’ll be supporting a fantastic live show from Disclosure; as well as sets from Dusky, Leon Vynehall and We Love… resident, Jem Haynes. Huxley had been bubbling in the UK house scene for a number of years, releasing a series [...]

Recorded out of the RinseFM's studios in London on June 13 was Spyro's set b2b with Mak 10 and Slimzee. DJ Geeneus' once-pirate radio station has become the official home for UK grime, dubstep and funky since 1994, and as a grime DJ, selector and digger for new sounds, Spyro’s reputation is unrivalled. Mention his name to any grime head, and you’ll be met with a nod of respect. His shows and DJ sets are instrumental in bringing newer producers to wider attention, as well as showcasing new music from established names within the scene. He’s impressively modest about his role [...]
Foamo Release Me EP Rinse Recordings The past twelve months have been very fruitful for our man Foamo, who saw the release of his Tremors EP and Sherlock Remixes EP via our Fat! Records, as well as the extremely successful launch of his new Gorgon City project, with close friend RacknRuin. Their single Real featuring [...]

It's Son Raw , again, he'll turn up with a fat on again. Butterz on Rinse: half short and twice strong. Though the crew's radio presence has once again folded into Elijah & Skilliam's flagship show (with alternating hosts Royal-T and Swindle), this week's episode definitely qualifies as a must-listen and a potent reminder that they're the most active label pushing the sound world wide. After an opening set by Elijah & Skilliam, the crew brought in Bristol up and comers Kahn & Neek for a guest spot. While Kahn has released everything from UK [...]

AMIT's Rinse FM guest mix recorded on the 10th of June 2013, touching on aspects of electronica, drum & bass and of course his core dubstep sound. Listen and download!

There's a wrong way to do things and then there's the right way to do things; and Plastician has fortunately fallen into the latter camp as he announces the retirement of the Plastician name with a boatload of sugar to help the medicine go down. The announcement in question made clear the track available below would most likely be his last as Plastician, at least for now. Understandably, the electronica-loving internet lost its shit and nearly attempted collective harakiri. However, and this is a huge pillow for [...]

Son Raw will abide no cursing and foul language. A genre's vitality can be measured by how fast and how often it's willing to reinvent itself. When movements and musical signifiers linger too long or worse, refuse to change altogether, things get boring but when the music evolves so quickly that multiple strains and ideas coexist at once, that's when magic happens. By my count there's at least 5 different directions existing simultaneously in Grime: MC led material being held down by crews like Family Tree, Butterz' high-energy dance music which has dominated for the [...]

Daniel Avery Rinse FM Show The young producer smashed it for 2 hours yesterday.

If you haven't been following T. Williams radio show on Rinse FM you might want to reevaluate your musical priorities. With previous shows featuring Squarehead and Copy Paste Soul , T. Williams usually bings on unique talent to play jams alongside him. This week the bristolian bass monster, Eats Everything , and the legend, Tom Trago , were featured. The show is always dope but I would definitely suggest listening to this one; Willams, Eats Everything, and Trago rip up the booth for a solid two hours! Sadly, T.Williams [...]
This month on our Rinse.FM show we had a special guest mix from The Black Madonna. We first caught her play during her residency at Smart bar in Chicago where she was setting the room off with a unique blend of sliced up disco and ghetto techno... everything I expected from one of America's historic house-music cities. Her productions have also gained much praise at the bicep towers, most recently with cuts on Chopped & Screwed ... and below the latest on Home Taping which has just dropped with a remix from the Revenge. This mix is quintessentially Chicago and [...]

DJ Oneman has been picking up some much needed steam lately, what with his killer mixes and collaborations hitting the airwaves with a boom and a bass. Check out his latest mix for Rinse FM that features tunes from Bonobo, Juicy J, James Blake, and Cashmere Cat, to name a few. With an exceptionally wide variety of samples, Oneman adds some jam-able flare to his chill house sound. For a full track list check out the download link below. Stepping over at Diplo and Friend's BBC Radio 1 a couple weeks back was resident Rinse FM DJ Oneman , with a tremendous 60 track(!) mix session. Going into details of the behemoth set is possible overkill, but Oneman doesn't leave too many steps uncovered. It's heavy in acid house, hip-hop, and endlessly engaging. Check out the session below, which is also available for download.

To say that Royal-T brought the party back into grime might be a slight reach, but the Rinse.Fm pickmaster and producer extraordinaire cert ainly has certainly brought grime to the party. With another EP ( I Know You Want Me) coming soon (May 20) via Rinse's label arm, it doesn't appear that his fast and fresh roll will end any time soon. Stream a preview of the EP's title track below and look out for a pre-order on May 6 that will include a VIP remix of 2012 hit "Inside The Ride" .

At the beginning of this calendar year, a lot of buzz was generated for Ron Morelli's Long Island Electrical Systems label (L.I.E.S.) through its contributions to what has become known as "left-field house". And it's true, L.I.E.S. does churn out very weird and experimental house music, but it's so much more than that. Operating through a preferred medium of low run white label releases, the label has re instituted a sense of rarity, both through its production methods and its general sound, that has been lacking in the electronic music-sphere. Choice releases from Legowelt , Delroy [...]

Facilmente.

I hope everybody that had the fortune of going to Coachella did so with full force. There's no time for slacking off at a festival like that. In many ways it's like a 5K run uphill, only your music is replaced by 100 subs, 500 speakers, and a song selection that probably couldn't fit on a 64 GB iPhone. I was having a discussion earlier about the biggest festival in existance. My friend thinks it's Global Gathering or EDC , I say Tomorrowland or Ultra . If you've got any ideas, feel [...]
