The Bumbershoot Festival started out as a means to lift the spirits of Seattle residents during tough economic times in the early 70s and implored laser light shows, inflatable soft sculptures by the Land Truth Company, folk music, and a Miss Hot Pants Contest. The only out-of-town performer at the time was country singer, Sheb Wooley. Fast forward to 2010, and check out how the festival has come along. But that looks to be just the beginning. Rage Against the Machine frontman Zack de la Rocha has [...]

There's a growing call from musicians to boycott the state of Arizona due to their recent passing of an immigration law that allows local authorities to stop anyone they feel may be an illegal citizen. Leading the charge is none other than Rage Against The Machine. Billboard reports that a website called thesoundstrike.net has been made so artists can join the campaign and refuse to play in Arizona until the state repeals the new law. Artists that have signed on include Serj Tankian, Conor Oberst, Tenacious D, Sonic Youth, Joe Satriani, [...]
