
I don't often use first names when describing a live act, but last night's venue for the Cambridge leg of the Island Life Tour kind of led to everyone being on first name terms. You know sometimes I feel that I overexpose some artists on the site and that I should rein in my waxing lyrical. The trouble is when I hear someone as good as Pete it's difficult! I almost wanted to not to fall in love with this latest offering like I did the debut EP. Trouble is, I have failed miserably. If anything, it takes Pete to the next echelon on the rise up the ladder. In years to come this shy guy from Penarth will surely take his place amongst the great songwriters of our time. [...]

I am really into this collaboration between two of Island Records' rising stars. For one thing it's a complete departure from the genres that one would normally associate them with. You can add to that the fact it's done to a really high standard giving the tracks a totally new twist, as you can tell from the take on Bubba Sparxxx 'Deliverance'.
