Aesop Rock  played his rescheduled SF show on Sunday night, after someone broke into his tour van last July, stealing nearly all of his live equipment. The following day Aesop played a free 'make-up' show at Amoeba Records, which was a sample size of what his new record would sound like live. It’s 11:21 p.m., CST, on Friday, July 27, and I am in a crowd of about 300 at Madison, Wisc.’s Barrymore Theater, watching Aesop Rock do “Zero Dark Thirty”. It turns out shouting “Down from a huntable surplus to one” back at a man dressed in a plain gray Hanes T-shirt and jeans feels pretty damn great. Preparing for Capture by Illogic and Blockhead

With his new album,  Skelethon , dropping July 12, it's only fitting that Aesop Rock will be hitting the road to celebrate the release. He'll be touring North American starting July 13 with frequent collaborators DJ Big Wiz and Rob Sonic. Iconic rapper/producer Aesop Rock will return with his first solo LP in five years, Skelethon , on July 10th via Rhymesayers. The follow-up to 20072s None Shall Pass , the 15-track effort "follows in the wake of several deep personal losses and highlights subject matter that deals with the sometimes-futile ways people try to cope with serious issues," according to a press release. As far as hip-hop goes, the Rhymesayers label is known for getting pretty deep and delving into hip-hop that sometimes borders on emo. That's not the case here. Aesop Rock, Rob Sonic, and DJ Big Wiz get goofy for this new video. "Break Dance Beach" is the fourth single from Hail Mary Mallon 's Are You Gonna Eat That , out now. Over the past few years, Aesop Rock ,  Rob Sonic , and  DJ Big Wiz , have performed live together, and even made appearances on each other's solo albums. In 2011, the trio joined forces to release their debut LP under the Hail Mary Mallon moniker,  Are Gonna Eat That?. "Breakdance Beach" is our favorite single from the LP, and lucky for us, a video has been released! Check it out.
