Melbourne is already well renowned for it's influx of talent in recent years. Names need not be mentioned but a relatively unknown duo (for now at least) are preparing for great things themselves. Sleep D (Maryos Syawish & Corey Kikos) have been supporting the biggest acts rolling through Melbourne with the Novel parties, with slots alongside Derrick May, Robag Wruhme, Trus'Me & Matthew Dear to name a few. The Sleep D sound is refreshing to hear, even a city as amazing as Melbourne is prone to trends, and the boys are [...]

1. EMA - Past Life Martyred Saints (Souterrain Transmissions) Listen: Anteroom Martyrs are not victims. There is no self-pity or cool detachment to their pain. Past Life Martyred Saints is an intimate but uncomfortable album, it will make you feel guilty for the hearts you've torn apart and it will make you feel weak for all the times you've been hurt and felt victimized for it. 2. Colin Stetson - New History Warfare Vol. 2: Judges [...]

Painting by Diego Gravinese [ Kompakt ] Listening to Thora Vukk , Robag Wruhme's second album, is not unlike wrapping up in an heirloom blanket. Hardly extravagant, it's the kind of LP whose hopeful tones and organic textures are best absorbed during a quiet night in, a dutiful pet (or significant other) curled up at your feet. But those who [...]

Robag Wruhme - Donnerkuppel
As he's due to hit our shores early next year, we asked Israeli-born, NYC-based DJ and producer Elon to spread a little early Christmas cheer and share with us his top tracks for December. Fan of underground techno, deep-house, tech-house and the like? You'll be mighty pleased with his picks then! Don't say we don't spoil you.... XDB - Sunda (Brooks Mosher Remix) [Dolly] Loving the automated bass lines, the pads, and the simplicity of the track arrangement. [...]

(Pampa Records, 2011) It's 3:30 in the AM, my dog streaks by the open door of my room and I can tell he's up to something--ripping up garbage in our living room--and after I've expressed my disappointment in him, cleaned up his mess, I'm sucked into this micro-house wormhole of Gabor Schablitski's, aka Robag Wruhme: Thora Vukk , which, phonetically, to these American ears, implies destroying Thor (among other things), but which actually sounds, in its unending contortions, it's rabbit-hole permutations, something more like bliss: if bliss is Thor's mind quietly exploding amidst the realization that his [...]

Wednesday, November 30th - Tiesto @ Pacha - Advance Tickets Part 1 of the Pacha NYC 6-Year Anniversary Celebration! Whether it be the 250,000 revelers coming together at Ipanema Beach in Rio De Janeiro, the adoring clubbers who descend upon Privilege in Ibiza on a Monday night every summer, or the 25,000 fans en masse at Victoria Park in London, all are in attendance for the same reason: they have come to see Tiësto, the world's biggest DJ/Producer! Tiesto is also performing on Thursday, December 1st at [...]
DJ Koze- Estrella The year is buttoning up and walking briskly into the darker months and I think it's at a juncture where I might say that when it comes to house and techno, DJ Koze's label Pampa will be the one talked about most warmly around the year end log fires. Kozalla is a careful curator, and there is a lovely sense of the label starting to develop a hugely identifiable 'feel' as Kompakt did, even though it has only reached its eighth single release. The 'feel' of course is pure [...]

Also: viel Spass.

Robag Wruhme — Tulpa Ovi I recently picked up Robag Wruhme 's Thora Vukk per reccomendation of Cokemachineglow , and it's since been serving as my 'collapsing-into-bed' album (sorry, Disintegration Loops ). The sort of minimal house/techno that Wruhme traffics in isn't typically my bag, but stuff as rich and realized as this is tough to turn down. Tracks like "Tulpa Ovi", with its gently resonating keys and tight percussive groove, [...]

Philogresz became part of the Dutch electronic [...]

Tracklist: 01. Intro - Rocko Schamoni 02. Autechre [...]

Although I am yoked to the school schedule, I don't get paid for the school holidays, so, nice as the holidays were, I returned to work with a certain amount of relief today. Glad to be earning a few bucks. And glad too, after a couple of hours getting back in gear, to recalibrate to a work environment where you are the weirdo if you don't make jazz hands and bawl the entire lyrics to 'It's a Hard Knock Life' (Annie, 1982) to a child before lunch. I'm glad to be at work, in short. [...]
