Filed under: News , Exclusive , The Hit List SGranitz, WireImage Anyone with " Grammy -winning artist" in their bio is bound to have an edge. The music industry's ultimate award, after all, affords prestige and opens doors. Yet, since the industry began handing out the golden gramophone trophies in 1959, artists have kept them in a variety of places. While Alicia Keys recently told reporters she kept her [...]

I'm Done Cryin' from The Robert Cray's Band's latest album " Nothin But Love " available now from Provogue Records. It is good stuff.

Robert Cray is among the honored and respected elite group of song- writer musicians. His guitar chops and vocals speak for themselves. His song writing can put you in the middle of the lyrics and you can feel the pain and in a few words of the chorus. . . you get it. Blues players respect his work and accomplishments. They have all requested his presence; from John Lee Hooker to Eric Clapton, Buddy Guy and the immortal [...]

I don't remember the last time, outside of a live performance, when Robert Cray's guitar sounded so present. Nothin But Love, produced by Kevin Shirley and due August 27 in the UK and August 28 in North America from Provogue Records, puts Cray's instrument front and center - then builds some of his most interesting collaborative moments around that signature [...]
I missed Robert Cray's birthday, which was on the first of the month (born August 1, 1953). I hope he had a happy one, and that there are many happy returns of the day. I like this song here that he did with Joe Bonamassa, it is good stuff. Love the vocals and of course these guys are guitar Gods! Robert Cray @ Amazon.com

Bluesman Curtis Salgado, over a career that's included stops with Robert Cray, Roomful of Blues and Santana, has always had an abiding love for R&B, hard soul and nasty funk. Soul Shot brings all of that together, in what turns out to be his best solo effort yet. Look no further than the opener, an ass-shaking Bobby Womack composition called [...]

Five-time Grammy-winning soul-blues star Robert Cray will enter the studio later this month to begin recording a new album with producer Kevin Shirley, known for his work with Aerosmith, Led Zeppelin, Journey, Joe Bonamassa and the Black Crowes, among others. “What an absolute honour to work with Robert Cray,” Shirley says. “I've been a fan since (Cray's 1986 breakthrough release) [...]

Any regular reader of the Ripple (affectionately known as a waverider) will know that its usually Old School who regales us with tales and reviews from the blues scene. Unfortunately, due to some personal matters, our brother Old School won't be able to join us for a while, so Penfold and I are going to stretch ourselves and pick up some of the music that Old School would normally review. In the meantime, our prayers go out to Old School. We're here for you, brother! So, with that said, it's time to delve into this [...]
