From euphoric chords, to hip hop vocals via acid house and lots of big room bass, DJ HERO flexes his musical muscles this year. The 5 EPs, all featuring a mix of original new tracks and re-edits of Ground Level back catalogue, will also be joined by a mix album on iTunes later this year, combining the tracks from the EPs with DJ Hero's previous remixes for Ground Level. EP1 contains two tracks featured on US breaks legend Baby Anne's mix "Bad Baby." First up comes [...]

It seems the entire EDM world is discovering the young French music producer and performer named Alpine . We at Noiseporn have just discovered him and we're hooked and can't wait to see the leaps his career takes. Now building his career in Los Angeles, Alpine pulls from different mediums and genres - ranging from live percussion instruments and his electric accordion skills, the sounds of dubstep , electro , and film music - and fuses them into a sound all his own. Alpine won the Insomniac [...]
Joe writes: There's an identikit cover version of Robert Miles featuring Maria Nayler's One & One floating around which reminded me what a great song it is. It was written by Billy Steinberg, Rick Nowels and Marie Claire D'Ubaldo. Billy Steinberg is "just" a lyricist - he doesn't write melody - but he's one of the most successful lyricists of the modern era having written Like A Virgin, True Colors, Eternal Flame, and Alone by Heart, all with Tom Kelly. I heard a story, probably apocryphal, that some time after Like A Virgin had been the [...]

The greatest composers have the ability to meld together sounds that capture the deepest of emotions, crafting melodies that remain timeless apart from new trends that stem from a consistent onslaught of cultural and technological change. To follow up their immensely successful remix of Paul Oakenfold’s ‘Surrender’, Maison & Dragen decide to pay homage to one such timeless track by pushing through with yet another release of outstanding production quality – a remix of Robert Miles’ 1996 trance masterpiece ‘Children’. This 2012 revamp and is being offered for free to celebrate the Finnish team’s 10k fan mark on [...]
The weekend has come and gone, and now you're deep into your weekly grind. Never fear, Wobble Wednesday is back with more of your favorite face-melting bass drops to help you make the most of your mundane lifestyle. Today I'll be guiding you along through the many variations of bass music that we see these days, new and old. I wanted to turn the Wobble Wednesday feature into more than just a section for today's dubstep, so I decided it was only right to incorporate some drum & bass as well as a summer time mix of the week section [...]

Always a treat to receive something from the London-based DJ/Production/Songwriting collective Eat More Cake . This Robert Miles remix of theirs is a bit more chilled out in comparison to their other stuff, but it's just lovely. I really can't wait to see what a live performance from these guys is like. And since we seemed to have missed this, check out this original, clubby tune featuring the awesome vocalist, missdavinalee . Be sure to check them out on Facebook and [...]

The Olympics are winding down with my beloved Mexican soccer team playing for the gold tomorrow morning. The experience has been forgettable at best with NBC making botched call after botched call putting their advertisers before the audience. I hope they've learned from their mistakes and move to improve for the winter games in Russia in 2014. In better news, last night was the Denver Broncos first preseason game. The world finally saw Peyton Manning take his first snap as a Bronco. His passes seemed to look wobbly at times, but his sound decision [...]
Remember Eat More Cake's rendition of Stardust's 902s orignal "Music Sounds Better With You?" Well, they're back to do the same thing again, this time remixing the likes of Robert Miles and his timeless 1996 track called "Children." We've all heard this song a thousand times by now, but its refreshing to hear Eat More Cake's downtempo, acoustically driven take on the tune. A mixture of digitial and analog centerpieces, Eat More Cake have once again managed to properly pay respect to one of electronic music's all-time classics! Bravo!

I say classic, I mean acceptable. I say acceptable, I mean poor. I say poor, I mean this record spawned the dreaded genre of dream house. A wet brand of house with saccharine synths. For the avoidance of doubt - I wasn't a fan. Harrovians Eat More Cake have remixed it. How a good remix emerges is anybody's guess. But it does. Free download. Eat More Cake have the temerity to say " Used to have this on cassette single in 1996 (?) and listened to it on repeat over and over again ." Given their absurd youth, [...]

gotye vs robert miles - children that i used to know ( dj's from mars mash up) http://feeds.feedburner.com/Wo ngiesMusicWorld

There will always be time in this lifetime for mash-ups. The latest to make us all sorts of happy? Cardboard-headed remixers DJs from Mars' mix of Gotye's slightly dreary chart topper, 'Somebody That I Used To Know'. Mixing this recent UK No.1 with the endlessly amazing 'Children' by Robert Miles, and throwing a dash of dubstep into the mix, this is genuinely one of the most spectacular mash-ups in recent memory. The video is fairly brilliant too, and shows this project was more than just squashing two songs together into the same five minutes. [...]

Our SoundKlout series is all about finding the best artists SoundCloud has to offer. Each article will spotlight a handful of good music from a selected SoundClouder. If you know anyone that needs noticing, make sure to hit us up with a few of theirs tracks. Most would think that melodic dubstep was an oxymoron. As much as I'd agree with them, Blackmill has made melodic dubstep a reality for me. Somehow , Blackmill puts grace on one of [...]
