Led Zeppelin: Chapter 3 LedZeppelin - Music - Arts - Trading - Robert Plant
For all their grand, benevolent statement and intentions utopian societies are rarely looked upon with favor by the wider populace. The Oneida Community of the mid and latter 19th century New York State was hardly an exception. The Community was founded on John H. Noyes' theology of Perfectionism, a form of Christianity with two basic [...]
Led Zeppelin: Chapter 2. LedZeppelin - Music - Arts - Trading - CD-R
42 years. FORTY TWO years... that's how long Robert Plant has been in the music business as a lead singer (I'm counting from Zeppelin I on). That's almost unheard of for a musician, especially a musician that has remained in the spotlight. He's been the...

Fallon made no secret of his fandom, sharing an anecdote about finding a Led Zeppelin album in the woods that had a profound impact. "It changed my life, made me who I am today," he told the rock legend. Unfortunately, Plant's memory [...]

![New Music Tuesday [September 14, 2010] – Lisbon Wilderness Shredding](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/2819542_lg.jpg)
Whew, now THIS is a big ass week of music releases. You have a ton of big albums from all corners of the indie rock world hitting the streets today, so pretty much everyone should be able to find something the love in what is hitting the streets today. Of course, for myself, I couldn't be more pumped about the return of Superchunk and their new one Majesty Shredding , though I also recommend giving The Walkmen's new one Lisbon and Black Mountain's Wilderness [...]
What a week for new releases. Typically when we put these posts together, we have about a half dozen albums to share with you. This week? Fifteen. Wow. We thought about trying to shorten the list, but we couldn't find any we wanted cut so we've broken it down into two posts. So, here are the first eight. As always, if you like what you hear, stop by your local record store or your favorite online music shop and support the artists we feature here on the site. On a personal note, I think [...]

Weezer has returned with an unfortunately titled and designed album. Les Savy Fav has returned with more post-punk, beardy, large-guy-with-no-shirt goodness. Of Montreal are back with more drugged-out dance pop. Azure Ray and Superchunk have returned. Bill Hicks has a box set. (RIP) Brandon Flowers of The Killers has a solo piece. DOOM has a new one that will inevitably be the chillest and most [...]
For as depressing as the end of summer may be, it does mean we no longer have to deal with shitty television and re-reuns of Law and Order: SVU . On a related note, our favorite late night talkers - with the exception of Conan of course - have ended their vacations and are back behind the desk. Consequently, there are again ample opportunities to catch some of our favorite acts from under the covers. Case in point, last night saw Brandon Flowers support Flamingo on Leno, Green Day play with the [...]

Led Zeppelin: Chapter 1 LedZeppelin - Music - Arts - Trading - CD-R

Filed under: Concerts and Tours , News , New Music After becoming one of the biggest rock stars of all time by "borrowing" from old bluesmen, Robert Plant seems almost penitent with 'Band of Joy,' his latest foray into traditional roots and country that is due out Sept. 14. On Sunday night at New York's Bowery Ballroom, the 62-year-old admitted that in their youth, he and his fellow Brits thought they knew American music, but they were so busy "staring [...]

I've been listening more and more to Robert Plant this last weekend, most likely because of my excitement for his upcoming album, Band of Joy. It's one of those albums that I simply cannot wait to hear, as Plant's output in the last decade has been consistently impressive. So in my quest for more Plant music, I come across an acoustic version of Led Zeppelin's classic song, "Black Dog," as performed by Robert Plant and Alison Krauss on CMT's Crossroads program. I remember watching this for the first time and marveling at how different [...]

Where to begin with Robert Plant ? It is impossible to separate the man from the musician just as it is impossible to succinctly explore the wealth and depth of his legendary career on a mere page. I am equally sure that the man himself would argue that tonight these things are not important, only the quivering southern soaked psychedelic blues of the Band of Joy is. The Band of Joy, circa 1966-67, was of course the name of Plant and John Bonham's band before they joined Led Zeppelin. The Band of Joy's pre Zeppelin [...]

As we have been mentioning the last couple of months, September is stocked with a ton of great releases and next Tuesday in particular comes the mother-load with a staggering number of high profile albums dropping that day. To get you ready for "Super Tuesday" the fine folks at NPR Music have handpicked 14 of their favorites to stream on their site for free as part of their First Listen series. Among those that you can get the "try it before you buy it" preview of are the new [...]
