Fleet Foxes Helplessness Blues is surely one of the most anticipated albums of this year. The record comes out on May 2nd and the bearded Seattle-ites have treated us to a second track from the forth-coming record - Hotcakes previously brought you the LP's title track back in January. 'Battery Kinzie' sounds more like the Fleet Foxes of 2008 when their self titled debut was caused quite the stir. The latest from the new record features the winning combination of glorious acoustic strum, booming drums and piano chords and of course those spring/summer [...]

In the past month or so, Robin Pecknold’s Twitter updates have been a great resource for free solo jams , Simpsons GIFs , album art previews , and now a link to an important eBay auction . Pecknold and Fleet Foxes have put a test pressing of their sophomore record up for auction with all proceeds being sent to the Japan Earthquake Relief Fund. Given that the album won’t reach our ears in full until May 3, the winning bidder just might be one of the first fans to hear the highly-anticipated [...]
Zane Lowe has once again been off gallivanting around the world being the ambassador for awesome, but now that he's back he's only gone and dropped the first play of some more new Fleet Foxes jams. "Battery Kinzie" will presumably be the next single from their hugely-anticipated second album after we heard "Helplessness Blues" at the end of January, and I'm gonna so far as to say that with this new song they're on their way to having an album that might rival their self-titled debut. You can check it a radio rip out below but [...]
Robin Pecknold Feat. Ed Droste - I'm Losing Myself

Robin Pecknold of Fleet Foxes. Source: Wikipedia This show features the Three Songs EP from hirsute Baroque-folker Robin Pecknold, better known as the frontman of Seattle's Fleet Foxes. The EP was somewhat clandestinely released via Fleet Foxes' Twitter account on March 7. The tracks should help sate the appetite of fans anxiously awaiting the sophomore record from the band, which is slated for release on May 3. Though Pecknold (and his amazing set of pipes) are behind these tracks, they're quieter and less layered than full band tracks. I'm particularly [...]

It’s windy outside and I’m out of words. Below, I posted some artwork and tried to pair each one with a particular song. Tomorrow, I’ll create my ninth mixtape that will include all these songs. I’ll also be posting my latest interview with Toronto shoegaze band Heartbeat Hotel . You will also find that I’ve included links to selected videos for a couple of the songs below. Enjoy and have a lovely weekend! Untitled procedural drawings 1/3 by A.N. [...]
Call it backlash from the massive surge of Fleet Foxes love, but I've started to think that Robin Pecknold's solo production is just a smite more interesting. Ring the bells, Pecknoldians, as the prolific front-man released a trio of new tracks just last week. About the songs: “These aren’t Fleet Foxes songs, but I didn’t know [...]

All eyes are on Austin this week. Yes, this is the time of year when throngs of buzz bands, their overzealous critics, and hipster bloggers descend upon the nation's weirdest state capitol for a week of absolute craziness, known more commonly as South By Southwest (or SXSW if you're cool). Don't fret if you can't make it this year. There's enough music-related news to keep up with minus SXSW. And that's saying a lot. It's not an easy job, but someone has to do it. Might as well be us. Enjoy the following recap, and get ready for [...]

Here is this week's music singles chart. For the week ending March 13-19. I am liking this week's #1 song by Tune-Yards. Can't wait for what the new album sounds like. Also in the charts are three new debuts. Check out the new remix from Young Galaxy's We Have Everything. Here is this week's chart. Edit This Week Last Week Total Week Artist [...]

As anticipation for new Fleet Foxes album Hopelessness Blues grows, Robin Pecknold dropped a.. well, why don't I let Robin describe himself (via twitter): "So, I recorded three acoustic songs a couple weeks ago in LA with my friend Noah. One is a duet with my friend Ed Droste from [...]
On croirait entendre Foals dans A Kiss A Day [...]

This week's This Music Wins show plays host to the luscious, operatic art rock of Wild Beasts' latest "Albatross", from their upcoming third album "Smother", a down-tempo acoustic demo which has surfaced from Fleet Foxes' lead singer Robin Pecknold, and a song from one of my selections for the Glastonbury 2011 Emerging Talent Competition long-list, Napoleon IIIrd. Also songs from the upcoming album from Meric Long's The Dodos, 'Civilian' from Wye Oak's stunning eponymous album, and a track from the newly announced Little Red Riding Hood Soundtrack from brooding ex-Knife member Fever Ray, with her viking-like overtones of bad-trip electronica. ROBIN PECKNOLD Bildiğiniz üzere dört gözle yeni Fleet Foxes kaydını beklerken, grubun saçı sakalına karışık aynalara küskün şarkıcısı Robin Pecknold , büyük ihtimalle formalite sürecinde boş durmamak adına bir tanesi cover olmak üzere 3 şarkılık mini bir ep yayınlamış. Aşağıya koyduğumu, tapılası grup Grizzly Bear 'den pampası Ed Droste ile birlikte söylemişler. Pazar'a benzeyen Cumartesi günlerinin şarkısı. I'm Losing Myself
Fav Tracks This week Fleet Foxes frontman Robin Pecknold released three solo songs via his twitter account. "I'm Losing Myself", a woeful ballad of love and self lost, is our favorite of the three. The song features Grizzly Bear leader Ed Droste providing backing vocals for Pecknold. All three are accompanied only by acoustic guitar. The [...]
![[Folk] Fleet Foxes frontman Robin Pecknold – I’m Losing Myself (ft. Ed Droste)](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3275588_lg.jpg)
Although Fleet Foxes have already got a new album out soon (great news for folkies everywhere), frontman Robin Pecknold has been very busy recently, taking to Twitter to announce a free EP of three solo tracks. With a Chris Thompson cover and a new song ('Derwentwater Stones'), we really are being spoiled here, but the stand-out track is Pecknold's collaboration with Grizzly Bear singer Ed Droste on 'I'm Losing Myself'. Haunting yet utterly gorgeous harmonies and gentle guitar plucking abounds on this song, creating a thing of melancholic beauty that should be treasured by music lovers [...]

If this Friday could please start feeling like a Friday. Thus far it's been a laundry-while-overdosing-on-Em ergen-C Tuesday. It's Elle's birthday for goodness sake! The very best friend anyone could ever ask for! Not only that, but a friend of mine has hooked me up a luxury weekend at a certain hotel in LA, all expenses paid. No animals, no work, no friends, no 90291 - none of that. Just a romantic weekend for two with a lot of room service. I'll be gluing the Do Not Disturb sign to [...]
Fleet Foxesin keulahahmo Robin Pecknold tarjoaa kolmen soolobiisin muodossa helpotusta yhtyeen kakkoslevyä odottaville. Paketti sisältää kaksi originaalia sekä yhden coverin (folk-laulaja Chris Thompsonin Where Is My Wild Rose ). Varsinkin Ed Drosten kanssa esitetty I'm Losing Myself on timanttinen. Lyhyesti Pecknoldin kuvaamana: "One is a duet with my friend Ed Droste from the amazing band Grizzly Bear, one is just a new solo jam, and one is a cover. These aren't Fleet Foxes songs, but I didn't know where else to disseminate it. Pretty mellow jams." [...]
