Kyle Andrew's Robot Learn Love has recently been released and despite its walls of electric guitars, raw synths and blasting drums, Robot Learn Love was conceived and recorded almost exclusively by Kyle himself. Robot is an exercise in duality: lo-fi vocals recorded through built-in laptop mics, others recorded through top-of-the-line studio preamps, drums simulated with software in the bedroom, and backing live string players tracked at pro recording studios. Half drowning in a swirl of stuttering synths, Andrews' plaintive cry, "Why's it got to be so complex?" at last gives way to a rest, a breath, only to be sucked back [...]

( email | facebook | twitter ) Their surnames are not Volkova, and they are not sisters. Indeed, two of them have beards. But this is where the deceptions end. From the out-of-focus opening guitar lick to the whispers of Antony Hegarty's baroque synesthesia, this is a drought-lifting votive that only a southerner could recognize. The album name couldn't be any more of a misnomer - Venus? Robot? - as the landscapes here are impeccably terrestrial, and [...]

This is gloriously odd. Volkova Sisters are a Hungarian band, named after characters in a science fiction novel, making fantastically inventive music that lurches between darkwave, industrial and stoner-esque rock. It feels intensely claustrophobic; all darkness and a lingering, malignant sense of threat. 'Last Song Of The Dying Fly' is the standout here, but you can stream the whole EP below. Chris Daly has eyes in the back of his dread. It has come to my conclusion that Free the Robots is not the moniker of one alleged Chris Alfaro, but is, in fact, a prime directive from a funkily deranged Mother Ship floating just above the planet's atmosphere. Think I'm lying? If his latest Alpha Pup EP, The Mind's Eye , isn't proof enough for you, don't blame me when you're enslaved by the inevitable robot invasion, and I'm sitting pretty as an android fluffer [...]

Ghost Robot Ninja Bear is currently on a short tour of the midwest in support of their eponymous debut , released earlier this year. Check out the dates below. The band is the latest project from ex- Nakatomi Plaza frontman Oscar Albis Rodriguez.
By now, all MetalSucks readers should know who Ben Robson is. But in case you don't, he's this very talented kid who won our Nevermore "Create Your Own Conspiracy" contest last year, and has since proven, time and time again, that he deserved the victory. Now Ben's one-man band, Robot Zombie Army, has unveiled its [...]

It has come to be very rare that I find something good & worth posting in my email. I try my best to check out everything that comes my way & give it somewhat of a chance. Majority of the shit is horrible! But once in a while I get some good shit. This time it's coming from an up & coming hip-hop artist from Danbury, CT named Al-Fatir. This is his latest mixtape titled * Robots & Skylines: 1.5 *. According to my knowledge this is his 3rd release this year. After giving this tape one full [...]

I know I am late on this one...about a year, but nonetheless the music styling of Robots With Rayguns has made life a bit more pleasurable as of late. I came across RWR recently when Futurecop! used "Sugarbaby" in a mix. My ears immediately perked up to the nostalgic synths and infectious melody, I had [...]

Happy Born Day Bilal!! To celebrate Plug Research has leaked a new remix to "Robots" featuring MC ADaD.

Red Robot is an alternative rock band from Los Angeles, California formed in 2006 by Andy (lead vocals) and Ryan Studer (drums), later joined by Andy Miller (bass) and Aaron Moore (guitar). The band's first studio-recorded 7 track EP, Identification, was released in August 2011 as a free digital download. Read more »

Producer Tensei puts his own spin on track number eight from Bilal's Airtight Revenge and gets Chicago's own MC ADaD to lace it with a verse. Look for this joint to appear on Bilal's upcoming remix project. This is way too ill. Props to the L.A. Times on the liberation. Bilal feat. MC ADaD - Robots (Tensei Remix)

Free The Robots - Rattlesnake Been pumpin' the new Mind's Eye EP since we copped it a few days back and it's most certainly hitting all the right places. We've kinda cultivated a love affair with Free The Robots over the last couple of years (as evidenced by our drooling over Ctrl Alt Delete HERE , and the split release with Exile HERE , and the collab with Busdriver HERE ), and this new 5-track collection of warbles/wobbles and crunchy beats is quite a [...]
Free The Robots previously graced our pages when the Santa Ana, Calif.-based producer dropped the superbly ill " With the Drums ", which was featured on his All City L.A. Series release. Since then, he put together a five-track EP, The Mind's Eye , that dropped this past Tuesday via Alpha Pup. And to give us a taste of what to expect on the project, he has chosen to give away the appropriately titled "Rattlesnake". Why is it appropriately titled? Well, you'll find out as long as you turn up the bass. [...]
