One of the acts that astounded me at Coachella was the Mexican duo Rodrigo y Gabriela . They're both guitarists originally from Mexico City and met up in a thrash metal band. From there they transplanted themselves to Dublin and their extreme guitar work has been influenced by Irish folk music. Plus they are huge Metallica fans and covers them regularly in concert. I have been playing Rodrigo y Gabriela's self-titled album compulsively over the past 4 days. Like atleast, literally, over a dozen times. IT IS SO GOOD.
