MUSIC NEWS - The rock and roll life isn't what it used to be. Ron Wood , the 61 year old Stones' guitarist has been warned to stop drinking or face being fired from the ROLLING STONES as the group plans an autumn 2009 US tour . A source told Britain's Daily Express newspaper that "all the band have to have a compulsory pre-tour medical to make sure they can get insurance." According to the source, "Ronnie failed his medical test for the 2002-2003 tour because of his drinking seven times the recommended number of alcohol [...]

MUSIC NEWS - Despite recent reports (from Ron Wood directly) that the Faces are reuniting for an album and a tour with Flea on bass, Billboard reports that a Rod Stewart spokesperson told the music press that "there are no plans for a Faces reunion tour this year." Additionally, a Flea's mgmt representative at Qprime told MNN that Flea "knows nothing" of a Faces tour. Part of the confusion originated for the Peppers themselves, someone should pull this Dec 04, 2008 post off the RedHotChiliPeppers.com site (now removed ) ! Anyway, time will tell [...]
Ron Wood has confirmed that Faces rehearsals have been taking place and that they will tour next year. Ronnie Lane's replacement undecided - it's looking like it will be Rod Stewarts's touring bassist, Conrad Korsch, but apparently Flea is among those interested . Gag me with a tube sock.
Shot at Storyville nightclub in New Orleans in the mid-'80s, here are three titans of rock 'n' roll piano throwing down for one very lucky crowd. Yes, that's Ronnie Wood in the band, playing guitar, and the ubiquitous Paul Shaffer is on hand as well, apparently in the role of head cheerleader. Hey, not bad work if you can get it! This was originally available on the long out-of-print video, Super Sessions Live: Fats Domino & Friends , but has since been retitled and repackaged in convenient DVD format. From Fats [...]

Today's installment of Bootleg Friday is a great one: Muddy Waters (and friends) at the Checkerboard Lounge in Chicago, recorded on November 22, 1981 . The "friends" at this show include: Buddy Guy, Junior Wells, Lefty Dizz…and Mick Jagger, Keith Richards and Ron Wood, who were in town to play three nights in Chicago on their Tattoo You tour. It was one of Muddy's last performances before his death in 1983, and the show is both celebratory and masterful. The interplay with Waters and Jagger is fascinating – truly one of a [...]

I just wrapped up Ronnie Wood's autobiography, Ronnie . Now, I consider myself a pretty big Stones fan. Of course, I missed them in their prime (which I consider their career through 1981's Tattoo You ). I didn't really learn to appreciate them until I was a senior in high school in '87-'88, when I came of age with albums like Sticky Fingers , Exile on Main Street , and Let It Bleed . [...]

Ron Wood & Keith Richards :: Sure The One You Need (Live 1974) I've recently been seriously dipping into Ronnie Wood's debut solo album I've Got My Own Album To Do - a cutthroat minor classic if there ever was one. More about that record later - right now, go check out this clip of [...]

Red lips, hair and fingernails? We've had a request for some Faces, and there really isn't much out there on them, comparatively, though some of this appears on the completist's wet dream, "Five Guys Walk Into a Bar" box set. The batch includes Faces faves like "Had Me a Real Good Time," "Borstal Boys" and for the first time live, "Bad n Ruin." But more interesting are the covers - McCartney's "Maybe I'm Amazed" balanced by Lennon's "Jealous Guy," The Stones' "Love in Vain," The Temptations' "I'm Losing You," and [...]
One of HappyParts all time favorite bands- so it's nice day- This is the best, bad bar band in the world- (next to Rolling Stones) their influence across all rock in roll, abundant. Nevermind Rod's diversions, this is when he had true soul. Dig it. WBR #7681 (1973) Cindy Incidentally
