Brian Lindegren aka Mux Mool is a Star Trek fanatic who stays up all hours and surviving on beats and energy drinks. The name Mux Mool came from a post asking fans to submit names for his project and Mux is short for "multiplex (or)..the streaming of many types of information through one channel and Chac-Mool is an ancient Meso-American statue of a reclining man ." Mux Mool's Planet High School touches down in February.

by BBG Rorschach at The Charleston ( more by Ryan Muir ) While we wait for the Maryland Deathfest lineup to expand, one of those bands have slipped past the goalie! Rorschach will play Maryland Deathfest and will presumably be announced with their final batch of artists in the coming weeks. Show No Mercy returns with an interview and a new song from Leviathan . The [...]
Before there were blogs there were these things called magazines, and the only metal magazine we still get excited about reading every month is Decibel. Here's managing editor Andrew Bonazelli… Two weeks ago, we not only revealed that this month's dB flexi disc is Krallice covering Rorschach's "Traditional," but that the corresponding Hall of Fame would be [...]
I haven't a clue how the folks (folk?) at Blot Und Eisen convinced Sigh's Mirai, Faith No More / Mr. Bungle's Trey Spruance, Eyehategod's Michael IX Williams, Agalloch's John Haughm and Ghoul's Digestor to submit to the Rorschach aka "ink blot" tests... but there you have it, and the results are fascinating! The Rorschach Test, for those [...]

Who is Rorschach Beats is a question that many of you will be asking... but lucky for us he contacted our very own Mr. Cooper and dropped his first ever release on our lap. Now how did that come about you may be asking, well as you may realize by now we don't mind some wicked bassie drum n bass/dub dance tracks over here at DnN... and Rorschach is a new alias for a producer we have posted up once before . So with us [...]
News Before there were blogs there were these things called magazines, and the only metal magazine we still get excited about reading every month is Decibel. Here's managing editor Andrew Bonazelli… Krallice may be polarizing in the metal community at large, but both Decibel (9 for Krallice, 9 for Dimensional Bleedthrough, 8 for Diotima) and MetalSucks [...]

"BIG PANTS WASTE PRECIOUS FABRIC" Step into my Nocturnus time machine and take a magical journey with me into a time long, long ago, an excursion into a world that scarcely resembles our own. In this world - we'll call it Moshtopia - hardcore kids are known for wearing giant, baggy pants, not skinny jeans; [...]

A gentle and reasonable being can be transformed into a maniac or a savage beast. One is always inclined to lay the blame on external circumstances, but nothing could explode in us if it had not been there. -Carl Jung, Psychology and Religion 1938, via the artist's statement . Trigger warning: Roxanne Jackson 's work is dark. But that's just the appeal. Just as we subject [...]

First things first: screamo is literally worse than the Holocaust in my book. With a few notable exceptions, I absolutely cannot stand this shit. That said, with bands like The Devil Wears Prada and Underoath selling out huge venues, putting out platinum-selling albums, and selling truckloads of cookie-cutter merch to [...]

Franklin Roosevelt's New Deal is widely lauded in today's history books as a bold measure to stem the tide and reverse the rot of the Great Depression. This despite the fact that U.S. domestic policy actual in subsequent decades, has done everything in it's power to dismantle said measures. However much like activist measures originating from the left today, the New Deal (and by extension Roosevelt) was reviled and feared by the right wing corporate ruling class of the 1930's. In the summer of 1933, shortly after Roosevelt's "First 100 Days," [...]
And Torsten Meyer was there. 16 years removed, gang vocals are very much still in effect. "Do we want to play the Ritz, or keep playing in kids' basements?" asked guitarist Nick Forte, back when... Continue reading "Rorschach Reunited at the Charleston" >

Brooklyn Vegan catches up with Charles Maggio of Rorschach , in the middle of their comeback tour: Are these one off dates or do you have any intentions of keeping this going? More dates, more material? We have been offered what would amount to an entire US and partial European tour, but unfortunately our lives are such that touring is not really an option. These 5 days are the only thing on the schedule now, we have no intentions of getting back together, it was always just about having fun. No [...]
