With the year half over, lists of favorite albums have started popping up. My lists have been in a state of flux for the past month, as I added and subtracted albums, EPs, and books almost daily. Books especially were hard to single out, especially as I read one amazing book after another for the "book notes" and "52 weeks" series. I've never been a huge music video guy. This was before I realized indie bands do, in fact, make videos. Double Agent Records has an awesome acoustic performance of "Irene" by Rose Melberg here on their site . It's interesting to see a song that relies on the rhythmic clarity of the piano translated to an acoustic guitar - also, if you pay close attention you can figure out the chords if you haven't done it by ear. Heres a song from Rose Melberg's new album "Cast Away The Clouds" which just came out today. Rose is a former member of Tiger Trap and the Softies and I just thought her music really goes perfectly with the spring.
