Frida (ex. Rough Bunnies) and Ale (from Le Man Avec Les Lunettes) did a song on our "Between Two Waves" -compilation under the name Dance Contest Winner , and now they have continued the collaboration and released a full free EP as "Frida & Ale". The EP is released on the LMALL-connected netlabel We Were Never Being Boring collective , and it includes 4 really good pop-songs. I like them all a lot, but "I don't like to see others having fun" is fantastic. This one made my day! Download it from Bandcamp:

For awhile back in 2004-2006 it seemed Bedroom Records could do no wrong. They had indie cred with many of their releases, as well as a near hit with Friday Bridge's single "It Girl". But no sooner had the outside world started to pay attention than the label closed up shop. In the aftermath there were rumblings of mismanagement and missing royalties. Gustaf Kjellvander aka. The Fine Arts Showcase har lavet et cover-album, hvor han kun fortolker det svenske lo-fi indieband Rough Bunnies . Det hedder selvfølgelig The Fine Arts Showcase Sings Rough Bunnies , og udkommer d. 26 september på Adrian Recordings . The Fine Arts Showcase put out one of my favorite records last year, so it stands to reason that I was giddy at seeing a new album from him (Gustav Kjellvander) is slated to hit the streets in May. It will be released on Adrian recordings in Sweden which will be available via Parasol here in the USofA. I don't have much time to write this post. Ironic too since it's an important one with an exclusive new song from The Rough Bunnies and news of a Swedesplease T-Shirt. First off there is a new compilation, Let It Bee , from the Italian label My Honey Records . Like it's namesake the comp is all about honey. The Rough Bunnies contribution is called "Thought Honey" and it's some kind of lofi-girl-group-hip-hop mashup. Other artists on the comp include Mutt Ramon, Sabastian Fors and Eisenhower. rough bunnies sind anna und frida, cousinen, aus schweden. hierzulande komplett unbekannt, obwohl sie schon 7 platten in diversen formationen aufgenommen haben, und das mit gerade mal mitte 20. meine minirecherche hat mir leider nicht eröffnet, wie groß sie in schweden sind. mit 17 haben sie inside riot gegründet, einer 5-köpfigen band, die, statt einen plattenvertrag abzuschließen, erstmal zum üben nach berlin gezogen ist. seit 2002 spielen sie als rough bunnies . gitarre, gesang, schlagzeug, fertig. catchy lo-fi twee pop. erinnert manchmal, natürlich, an die moldy peaches. zwischendurch wurde noch ein album [...]
