Here's another great edit from Mindless Boogie archives. Back in 2009, Rove Dogs released a 12" vinyl with three disco edits, which also featured their splendid rework of Eberhard Schoener's "Why Don't You Answer?" Despite its beauty I was initially put off by the repetitive downtempo start, however this is merely the calm before the storm as the song is quickly transformed through the introduction of gritty electronic bass. If Ratatat and Dabrye were somehow mutated into one the music might sound something like this. "It's undeniably French". That has to be the first thought that hits you when you play Rove Dogs' Innocence Lost . Worry not, this isn't an crazily distorted banger. The first 100 seconds are pure disco house bliss and on par with some of the best from Allure and Aeroplane. After the drop, things become a little less original. The latest Mindless Boogie release contains 3 edits done by Rove Dogs , who I'm excited to say are brand new to me. This first track is a bit more dance floor-ish than I'd expect to hear from something on MB, which is also a welcome surprise. A few sequencers fluttering around, some muted guitar and some deep, throaty (hehehe) bass really give this tune a big rhythmic boost and turn it into a bit of a party jam.
