The legendary Juice Crew (at least some of them) will be on stage in London, England on April 9, 2012. Among the founding members coming are Big Daddy Kane, Biz Markie, Masta Ace, Craig G, MC Shan and Roxanne Shante. Notably missing from the circulating press release are DJ Marley Marl and Kool G Rap. Biz Markie's career began in Long Island, New York in the early 1980s, where he established his reputation for beat-boxing and rapping. MC Shan and Roxanne Shante were part of Marley Marl's Cold Chillin' Records, and Biz beatboxed on Shante's underground hit "Def Fresh Crew" (1986). This started as an exploration of tracks that sampled Lyn Collins' - Think, but it has kind of morphed into something a bit crazier than that. Although to be fair all of the tracks included do sample the track in question, they're just from genres which are perhaps too diverse to be comfortably stuck together but I think that's where I'm at these days.
