Almost exactly a year ago we released a new ep from Saharan Gazelle Boy called Strange Teen Heart. We also released a few videos for a few of the songs made by multi instrumentalist member John Paul Giago. Well he is back at again this time with a video for Amy Needs A Vacation. Our good buddy yvylnyl was awesome enough to give us a premiere for it and call it favorite from last fall. Saharan Gazelle Boy has mostly been on hold while Capybara has been finishing their new [...]

Myspace Saharan Gazelle Boy. Saharan Gazelle Boy = Strange Teen Heart I was very fortunate (though unfortunately later than I would've liked it) to come in contact with a great guy Nathan who helps run The Record Machine . A Kansas City based independent record label that seems to specialize in good music. Saharan Gazelle Boys are a respectable addition to the rising class of 80s pop enthusiasts that are making music good enough to make you think you were Molly Ringwald. I would suggest picking up their EP and the full length on [...]

The Fishcast? Yes, because the fishmonger opposite our house is today auctioning off for charity the largest lobster ever to be fished out of the Firth of Forth, and the fucking thing is ma- hooo -sive! Honestly, if that little bastard ever got its claws on you I don't think you'd stand a fucking chance. Anyhow, yes, I do know that a lobster isn't a fish, don't worry, but the Fishcast just had a better ring to it than the Fuckinggreatbiglobstercast, and the word Crustacean didn't seem to have an obvious way of crunching down into the Somethingcast. [...]

I must admit, I'd never heard of Saharan Gazelle Boy before, apparently it's a collaboration between Capybara's Darin Seal and Sea Change. I've never heard of them either. Oh well. I'm digging the music though, it's nice and grungy and has an electronic post-punk vibe to it. An early 80's Indie theme runs throughout but with enough electronics to keep it just the right side of SynthPop. Check the video for their new single 'Strange Teen Heart'. And [...]

Strange Teen Heart is the second Record Machine release for Saharan Gazelle Boy , a collaboration between Capybara's Darin Seal and Sea Change (aka Sarah Handelman). The EP is a super-quad of songs that conjure the love, loneliness and naivete of teendom while continuing to develop the sleepy, bedroom pop of Saharan's Airplane's Can't. The melodramatic, synth-pop is the soundtrack for the shy, 1980s, pretty-but-doesn't-know-it high school girl in all of us. This new batch of songs was recorded over the course of many sun-soaked afternoons, and they couldn't wait to get them out [...]
We're excited to launch the video for Strange Teen Heart, the title track off of Saharan Gazelle Boy's dreamy EP. Directed by John Paul Giago, the video exudes the nostalgic wonder and imagination of one of SGB's favorite subjects — the achy, twitterpated hearts of our youth. Also this will be the last week that you can purchase Strange Teen Heart for just $2. Starting next Tuesday it will be available on iTunes. Take a look and enjoy! Purchase

Hey everyone! Welcome to Friday, which around here means new music. There are singles, remixes, and covers from your favorite bands, as well as mp3s from some up and comers you just might want to check out. Plus, thanks to Kanye's G.O.O.D. Friday promotion, we have sweet new rhymes to look forward to from now until Christmas. And this week is extra special since it marks the end of our three year anniversary extravaganza. So we figured we might as well go out with a bang, cramming in as much music into this piece as we could possibly [...]

Saharan Gazelle Boy - Something I Want to Know About You I spent a good chunk of this week going through hundreds of unread EOTB emails and was... (Visit my blog for more!)
We knew when we committed to releasing an album every month we had some great new releases in the pipe for everyone to enjoy in 2010. I have to say that while every release in our catalog has a certain special place in our hearts this one does for me for several reasons. Saharan Gazelle Boy - Airplanes Can't marks TRM's 20th release in just under 7 years. While that might not sound like much it is pretty awesome for us a label to get to that point. This release is also the first release to have several songs recorded [...]
