In acknowledgement of the tragedy's 10-year anniversary, I'll share my memory of the day, if only because it's music-related. I was in high school; my dad was driving me to first period and I was, of course, running late. (In the last decade, the rest of my life has changed entirely. But not that.) During the previous few days, the local classic rock station had been playing Led Zeppelin's "Ramble On" in the minutes before 8 a.m. and I turned on the radio, anxious to hear it. Instead, we were interrupted by a broadcaster talking about planes and Twin Towers [...]

2k11 has been quite the year for Sampha , whose work with SBTRKT , Jessie Ware , and Lil Silva has illustrated a unique ability to shine across multiple genres. Indecision is a stripped-down demo he posted on his soundcloud a little over two weeks ago, and its perfect blend of melody with minimal instrumentation (you can even hear a click track bleed into the final seconds of the track) proves that there still is [...]

If you've heard SBTRKT then you'll recognize these vocals. This piano jam is a solo release from last week by London's Sampha and the slow melodic build to "Indeicision" makes for a perfect lazy summer track. Its a welcome deviation from the "R&B-once removed hookiness" and "mutant mega bass" of SBTRKT. With this being called merely a demo, I'm looking forward to what this Sampha bloke delivers next.

So, we'll be perfectly forthright with you: It's a straight cut down the middle this week of tracks eligible for download and tracks only available for stream. In the early days of this feature, we took the advice of the readers and made sure that most of our mp3s were downloadable. But some weeks we're faced with the insurmountable question, "Do we give them 'meh' tracks they can download? Or great tracks they can stream?" It's a bonus when we can get you a quality download and not even have to worry about any of this, but the latter option [...]

Neglected this Sampha piano jam straight away but it's one that is more than deserving to revisit, a slow and melodious build-up that is fully exploited by that joyous chorus. There's nothing but positivity running through me and even though you can hear some kind of heartfelt strain to his voice, it's as if this song is the overcoming of one great barrier, the light at the end of some dank tunnel. Check it. STREAM : Sampha - "Indecision" Filed under: sampha

Tweet Sampha , fresh from showcasing his crooning on SBTRKT's LP has let a demo, we think, of Indecision surface online. It's a piano-based dose of real beauty, Sampha's enchanting voice given an elegant canvas to cover. His production is pretty damn good too, here's Valentine with Jessie Ware : More from this man soon would be very welcome.
Recently uploaded to SoundCloud, here's a new track from Sampha. If you're a regular viewer of my reviews, you may remember this UK singer-songwriter from his vocal features on the new SBTRKT album , which grows on me with each listen. On "Indecision," people who were introduced to this guy on SBTRKT's album are gonna see a change. Rather than a background filled with various electronic beats and tones, we've got a straight up piano ballad. It's a great gear shift, and complement's Sampha's smoky, emotive vocals even more than the electronics, surprisingly.

I remember stumbling across Sampha when I first checked out his collaboration, 'Break Off / Evening Glow' with SBTRKT back in June last year. Although the record did include some of his vocals, it didn't really do them any justice - They were cut and looped until you couldn't actually identify them as his. Fast forward to the present and we've been blessed with a few more collaborations between the two and more importantly, we now know what Sampha can actually do. If you haven't already checked his features on SBTRKT's debut LP , I [...]

DOWNLOAD: SBTRKT - "Wildfire" (Drumma Boy remix ft. Shabazz Palaces) (MP3) Back in June, we announced the killer initial lineup for Moogfest 2011 (October 28, 29, 30). That lineup just got even better with additions including TV on the Radio , Special Disco Version featuring James Murphy and Pat Mahoney , St. Vincent , SBTRKT , Flying Lotus , YACHT , John Maus , Araabmuzik [...]
Sampha captured my heart and soul on SBTRKT's album, and I didn't even know it. Among several other tracks on the project, he's the man who provides the lead vocals on "Never, Never", and that song has catapulted to one of my favorite releases of the year. Apparently the UK singer has been giving the solo thing a shot as well, and he just released "Indecision" to the masses. He's got a sound worthy of attention. Hit the stream below.

Young singer from the UK released a cool, breezy, new song yesterday. Sampha released, "Indecision," and the VTT decision is unanimous: we got a winner.
If you're anything like us, you loved SBTRKT's self-titled album , too. And there's a good reason for your adoration that goes beyond the masked-producer's fan-fucking-tastic production. Sampha , a singer who hails from the U.K., knows damn well how to complement SBTRKT's icy style. The vocalist also apparently has some chops when it comes to working as a solo artist, which he displays wonderfully on this demo track, "Indecision". It should go without saying that we're really looking forward to hearing how this one sounds in its finished form. [ via ] [...]
London based producer SBTRKT debut self titled album was a pleasent surprise with its multilayered, multi element tracks that featured some very unique vocals that just fit perfectly. Those vocals that were such an integral part to the SBTRKT's debut album were done by fellow Londoner Sampha. Sampha in the track "Indecision" sings with some minor flourishes on the the rough and raw backing track with clomping pianos and tambourines. Sampha strange but addicting vocals make their presence in the repeated lyrics "Let it all work out" shows that Sampha is someone to keep your ear out for over the [...]

Anyone who's followed SBTRKT over the past year or so should recognise London vocalist Sampha immediately. Indecision is his effortless, saunter into solo stardom. Piano keys skip gently alongside Sampha's unique soul tones and it's a testament to his talent that so much emotion and soul can be conveyed in such a narrow vocal range. This is a far cry from the electronic based beats which have housed Sampha's voice up until this point and it suggests music even more compelling is on its way. One to watch for sure.

Sampha-Indecision by samphamusic One of the main reasons I fell in love with the SBTRKT album is Sampha's voice. Finding a male vocalist that I cannot get enough of has been a long time coming, I was actually starting to lose hope. "Indecision" is a recently released demo track, and it is a very good one at that. The track is produced by Sampha and his voice is accompanied by keys, some gentle tambourine action and subtle backing vocals. Do you guys think Sampha can hold his own [...]

Ouça a nova música do Sampha , Indecision. London dance music leading light SBTRKT made many smart decisions in crafting and producing his self-titled LP, and making large parts of that album a showcase for the ascendant vocalist Sampha is chief amongst them. Most of its best jams are jams he's fronting. Here, the UK-based singer blows his smooth, swoon of a croon into a piano-based track titled "Indecision," apparently a demo, streaming below: Read More...

Sampha-Indecision by samphamusic
