Back when the lovely Sara Bareilles made her blog debut , few people knew her name let alone how to pronounce it. These days, she's all over TV commercials and shows, has the #4 Album and #2 song on iTunes, and at least one person a day finds this website through a search about her. That smells like momentum, methinks. A welcome breakthrough as well, coming from a self-taught, self-made female singer-songwriter with spunk to spare. At her best, she brings the off-balance piano jazz arrangements that would make Regina Spektor proud and at her worst, she's [...]
sara bareilles - love song [ link 2 ] [while the crappy colbie caillat is getting all the play on top 40 radio, the word of mouth machine will have to work just a tad longer before sara breaks onto the populist playlist. plus i have a soft spot for anyone who used to be an acapella nerd! acapella nerds unite!] http://feeds.feedburner.com/Wo ngiesMusicWorld
Call me lazy if you like but the truth is I'm just too exhausted to compose anything really worthwhile today. I had a fantastic long weekend that ended far too soon and so since I still have that on the brain and can think of absolutely nothing else, here is my cop out post for the day. Get off the internet and go love somebody today. Sara Bareilles - "Love Song" Tesla - "Love Song" The

This young lady is set to support Maroon 5 on their forthcoming huge American tour, and with that exposure, I think she has a big chance of becoming a very successful artist in the coming months. There's nothing outstanding about her music, but she has a really nice voice and the songs are just really nice. Maybe 'nice' isn't quite a good enough superlative to take her to the top of my personal favourites, but it seems to get artists quite far these days, and with the charts swamped with 'nice' songs at the moment I reckon there should be [...]

It's like Christmas in August. If you've attended conferences for work before, surely we've all collected the same array of doodads and logo-covered items over the years. But I've never experienced quite the excitement that I get tucked inside a nondescript canvas bag at the registration table for the Boulder music summit. Instead of letter openers and stress balls, I find enough sampler CDs and random little EPs to sate me for quite a while (even a Modest Mouse 7"! Yeehaw). Many of these artists are buzz bands that I keep hearing about, and going through [...]
If you're on the outskirts of L.A. this weekend be sure to visit the 1st Annual Global Cooling Music Festival at Pappy and Harriet's in Pioneertown or Hootenanny 2007. Fun in the sun. And talk about fun in the sun, this week's Summer Camp at Little Radio features Great Northern, Coco B's, and The Upsidedown. We checked out The Upsidedown last night in Long Beach. We were totally in the mood for

Someone request a Sara repost (from here ). I wasn't sure where to stick her in my weekly lineup. Guilty Pleasure? Yeah. Saturday Soundtracks? I could do a whole Monster In Law v2.0. Another Random Friday? Possibly. Inbox Artist? Not yet. After doing a little googling, turns out Sara is in this movie, where she basically plays herself. So I decided to stick her in this series.
