I'd Like a Bucket of Krang , Please Bun 143 Grand Street, New York, NY (212) 431-7999 by Joshua Brau Of the four East Asian cuisines most popular in the U.S.—Chinese, Japanese, Thai, and Vietnamese—I've always loved the latter most, but only in my dreams. The thing is, I'd eaten far less Vietnamese food than Chinese , Japanese , and Thai , if for no other [...]

The idea is simple: the band (of sorts) that's been known as Say Hi to Your Mom for four albums now, has shortened their name. Now known simply as Say Hi, they've prepared their fifth album, "The Wishes and The Glitch" for a February 5th release in stores. The fun little thing you can do right now, though, is buy the album straight from the band and get the whole thing on download almost immediately (in high quality, DRM-free mp3s, no less!). Included in that download package is a physical copy of the CD shipped to you on the Feb. [...]

Release Date: 02.05.08 As the year begins to wind down, I've been trying to go through as many albums as possible before we all drift into an eggnog-induced coma. Somehow I had overlooked the Seattle-based Say Hi's latest LP, The Wishes And The Glitch . The first single from the album, "Northwestern Girls," has been in rotation on my favorite online radio spots, so you'd think their constant reminders would have gotten me to give this one a listen earlier. Say Hi is the project of Eric Elbogen, the [...]

Say hi to Say Hi , formerly Say Hi To Your Mom . Founded in Brooklyn in 2002, Say Hi is mainly the work of one songwriter, Eric Elbogen and since the beginning, his records have come out on his own label Euphobia Records . The music is one of those fine mixtures of synths and washy guitars accentuated with sweet melodies. The band has shared the stage with a ton of great bands including Pinback, Headphones, [...]

Say Hi (formerly Say Hi to Your Mom ) rocked out the small crowd gathered at the Glasshouse on October 19. The band has gome through some major transformations, and is now comprised of its founder and star, Eric Elbogen , who plays all of the instruments on the record, and is accompanied on one song on the album by David Bazan . Keyboardist Nouela Johnston, bassist Westin Glass, and drummer Sam Collins are on tour to support Eric and do a great job. Say Hi are out on the road in support [...]

Brooklyn, NY Formerly known as Say Hi To Your Mom, here's an act that seems to keep getting better with each album. I have to admit - The Wishes And The Glitch really sneaked up on me this year because I was still riding high on tunes from last year's Impeccable Blahs . With Eric Elbogen as the backbone of Say Hi, the band will play Black Cat tonight. The A-Sides and The Velvet Teen are opening bands, and it all starts after 9pm. "Toil And Trouble" [...]

Due to the week ahead, I didn't even stay up all night celebrating Boston's second World Series win in four years. I have two monstrous projects bearing down on me at work and something going on Tuesday through Saturday. And to top it off, there are a ton of good shows this week. If we got all the shows on Tuesday spread over a week, I would be a happy camper. As it is, I have to choose and miss out on a lot of bands I want to see. Oh, and Morrissey's in town, D.C. [...]
Say Hi - Shakes Her Shoulders Say Hi - Zero to Love Say Hi - Northwestern Girls
Hey dudes, almost fell into a black hole.....but then I didn't. Been and will be a little busy for a whole nother week so, I'll try to get down when I can. Whatever may come, I did get to go see a show last (last) weekend. The A-Sides The evening started with the A-Sides from Philly. I checked out the A-Sides' myspace several days before the show and I found the songs to be well constructed and nicely polished. What I didn't hear was heart, or whatever pseudo-spiritual [...]

Brooklyn`s own Say Hi To Your Mom have dropped the " To Your Mom " part of their name and have a new LP on the way....I personally like the name change, sounds more mature. Say Hi `s new album is called The Wishes And The Glitch . I`ve had a few listens now and its not a bad....its also a cheap pickup. The album can be bought for only $7 dollars at their site, for $28 you get the [...]

Say Hi (formerly, To Your Mom) has a new album out titled The Wishes and the Glitch. It doesn't hit stores till Feburary 5 th 2008, but oh, don't worry. You can buy it from them right now in MP3 format DRM-free! Do it. The new album covers similar themes to earlier records- video games, crushes, spiders and delivers all the catchy hooks I was hoping for but I think there's more of a full band sound. I had a really hard time picking just two songs to post. MP3: Say Hi- Magic Beans and Truth [...]
