Q snatches up K. Dot for his latest track and just like the collaboration choice, this joint is a win. Hopefully Q's album, Oxymoron , will see the light of day sometime soon.
Wise moves from title to execution. Who doesn't like collard greens? Who doesn't like Schoolboy Q and Kendrick? The former is fast becoming the rap game, Raoul Duke, from appearance to addled state. His flow here is slower and less tangled than Q normally deploys. But it's no less effective. It sounds like a hunter tiptoeing towards the kill. Kendrick speaks Spanglish like James L. Brooks had just cast him. This is what happens when two of the top five rappers in the world are on the same team at the same damn time. So TDE is the [...]
Schoolboy Q made lifelong fans in us last year when he made that Menomena sample in Habits and Contradictions jam "There He Go" sound totally badass, but he's securing his position as one of our new favorites with this track that's ostensibly about our favorite bitter greens, or, at least, one of the best weed euphemisms out there. "Collard Greens," which'll wind up on Q's forthcoming record Oxymoron , gets some help from fellow Black Hippy dudes Kendrick Lamar and the producer THC , to great effect - that [...]
While Kendrick Lamar has blown past the idea of superstar in recent months, his fellow Black Hippy crew member Schoolboy Q may not be far behind. Q has a brand new album on the way in the form of Oxymoron , which boasts not only the lead single " Yay Yay ," but this furious brand new cut "Collard Greens." Kendrick does what only he seems to be capable of, with a thrilling guest verse, but the whole tracks sits a top as one of the year's best. Stream it below and watch [...]
In anticipation of his imminent Oxymoron LP, ScHoolboy Q releases this single with his Black Hippy brother Kendrick Lamar. Kendrick raps in Spanish, Q raps about drugs and ladies, but the real star of this song is the beat, which was produced by TDE in-house producer THC. The drum track sounds like it was lifted from an indie-rock band from the late aughts, all rim hits and tribal propulsion, but the synths are pillowy and serene. This song looks like it could soundtrack many upcoming summer nights. Enjoy! Check a review for Schoolboy Q's last LP below:
Nueva canción entre ScHoolboy Q y Kendrick Lamar El rapero ScHoolboy Q nos presenta en esta ocasión un nuevo track titulado "Collard Greens", el cual cuenta con la colaboración de su amigo y compañero de sello Kendrick Lamar . Aunque aún no se revela la fecha de salida de su nuevo álbum Oxymoron , ésta parece una excelente prueba de lo que ScHoolboy Q trae entre manos. Escuchen "Collard Greens" a continuación.
Schoolboy Q's upcoming album Oxymoron sounds like it is going to be a must buy. Q's first single " Yay Yay " is a solid song that features excellent production from Boi-1da. Now his latest offering "Collard Greens" builds up the anticipation for his new album. Schoolboy Q is signed to Top Dawg Entertainment which features Kendrick Lamar, Ab-Soul, and Jay Rock. Together the four rappers form the group Black Hippy. Having Kendrick Lamar, arguably the best rapper out right now in your crew is a gift and a curse. Your record will definitely get more play [...]
Earlier today, Schoolboy Q treated us to a new release off of his imminent debut album, Oxymoron. If there’s one track you need to bump in your car this week, this is it. This latest banger is an explicit demonstration that the L.A up-and-comer is going from strength to strength, teaming up with hip-hop’s man of the moment and Top Dawg Entertainment comrade, Kendrick Lamar . Q’s next project Oxymoron is scheduled for release soon via Top Dawg Entertainment, but for now you can download “Collard Greens”on [...]
Schoolboy Q is the resident livewire tough guy in the Black Hippy crew, and now that his buddy Kendrick Lamar is a massive star, he seems marked as the next to blow. Q's album Oxymoron is coming soon, and we've already posted its first single " Yay Yay ." He's now shared another track called "Collard Greens." This one has an excellently jittery, beep-driven beat from frequent Black Hippy producer THC, and Kendrick Lamar shows up with a frantic guest verse, one with a few bars rapped in Spanish. But Q's rangy young-lion charisma is still what anchors [...]
by Andrew Sacher Schoolboy Q at Prospect Park in 2012 ( more by Chris La Putt ) We're still waiting for full details on the new Schoolboy Q album, Oxymoron , but in the meantime, Q just dropped a new single, "Collard Greens," which will presumably appear on the album, and it's one of his best yet. It's got a guest verse from his Black Hippy mate Kendrick Lamar (who just [...]
Schoolboy dropped a new single off his upcoming "Oxymoron" project slated for later this yeaer. Who doesn't enjoy when some of the TDE boys get on each others tracks and that's just what we have here with Collard Greens . Kendrick goes hard on his verse adding a nice complimentary sound to the already impressive lyricism of Schoolboy. Check out the track below and let us know what you think... personally I just can't wait for more Black Hippy tracks.
Late last night, ScHoolboy Q released his next single, "Collard Greens", and it's a low-key funky joint featuring one of his Black Hippy brethren, Kendrick Lamar . The two share vocal duties on the hook and verses, with Lamar providing some of his most shit talk-heavy bars in a minute. I'm diggin' his verse aesthetically, though it's Q who really shines here. Rightfully so, it's his single after all. Apparently his new album, OxyMoron , is coming soon. It can't get here soon enough if you ask me. You can stream the track below.

Somewhat unexpectedly, although with his new project Oxymoron on the way, Schoolboy Q decides to unveil his latest single "Collard Greens" featuring TDE-labelmate Kendrick Lamar [...]

Oxymoron is coming soon. Produced by THC , the energetic Collard Greens showcases the black hippy buddies at their best. Available on iTunes now. Kendrick really goes in, and in two languages, Q may be playing catchup on his own track. Regardless, this further excites for ScHoolboy's proper debut LP. mp3: ScHoolboy Q - Collard Greens ft. While many of you out there might be comfortably tucked into your beds and drifting off to dreamland, ScHoolboy Q is prepping for the release of his major label debut, Oxymoron . Almost out of nowhere, Q decided to drop his third single from the project featuring running mate Kendrick Lamar . If you base your expectations off those two names alone, then you already know you're in for a real treat. Backed by a reverberant, whistling instrumental, this particular collaboration sounds like nothing either of them have produced before. This might also mark the first time we've [...]
If our debut album was being looked at as one of the more highly anticipated releases of the year, best believe we would be stressing something heavy over the pressure of meeting such high expectations. Schoolboy Q 's introduction into the major label field, the forthcoming Oxymoron , is one of those such albums, yet after laying a couple eardrums on the set's delightfully eerie and unapologetic "Yay Yay" , and now this-freshly dropped Kendrick Lamar assist "Collard Greens"-it would seem that the Los Angeles TDE emcee has nothing to sweat [...]
A rap song is a marriage between producer and rapper. In the past TDE (Top Dawg Entertainment) has been one of the best labels at keeping producers in-house and churning out quality, sonically cohesive records. THC , the mind that brought Kendrick Lamar 's "M.a.a.d City" and "Cartoons & Cereal" to life, delivered (with Gwen Bunn) a massive beat. Luckily, ScHoolboy Q and Kendrick were able to deliver equally dirty verses with K.dot even busting out some Spanish at the start of his. Q's [...]
