Special thanks to editrix extraordinaire Jessica McGinley for last week 's Britney Spears -ified Under Cover! My last few months of writing 'Under Cover' have been one big lovefest. But sometimes I feel like balancing things out by tossing in a little sour with the sweet. Never one to shy away from the dissenting opinion, this isn't just about my need to hate on things every now and then (especially since some rockers make it so hard not to). I'm just trying to keep it real. And fun. And mix [...]

While working on their third album, Scissor Sisters took some time out of their busy schedule to record a cover of Roxy Music's "Do The Strand." The track is included on " Heroes ," a compilation CD that will benefit War Child. The concept behind the album is that some of the biggest names in music select their personal favorite song from their own song writing canon, and nominate an artist from the next generation to create a modern reworking of that classic song. Many acts that were keen to join the project have now completed and [...]

This week's episode opens with somber news. In the dark of night, Maria has been forced to leave the show due to "medical complications"...which is Rock of Love speak for a herp outbreak. Maria should have just snorted some valtrex and owned it like Katie Holmes. Nonetheless, Big John informs the girls that they are heading out to the next destination while Bret stays behind and pays Maria a visit. Bret tells the girls he'll meet up with them in Chicago and that they should "dress to impress", which is Rock of Love for "put the skank on [...]
![Scissor Sisters, no Brasil? [Confirmado]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/1472837_lg.jpg)
know we just got done with the 2008 lists, but this one's clamoring for my top compilation spot for '09 already! read more

The artists for the latest War Child compilation Heroes have been announced and amongst the artists having a go at songs in the popular music canon are Beck, TV on the Radio, Scissor Sisters, Hot Chip, Estelle and Elbow. The original artists were asked to choose a song from their back catalogue and to nominate an artist to cover them. So we have Bowie picking TV on the Radio, Bob Dylan picking Beck, Mick Jones picking Lily Allen, The Boss picking The Hold Steady and so on. It's like a game of rounders expect [...]

One post, two talents to watch for in 2009! Hot off the last post about the sensational up-and-comer, Wallpaper. comes news from Fingers On The Pulse that the electro rocker's remix of Passion Pit 's "Sleepyhead" has won the site's remix competition, proving victorious as the best mix of the bunch! Infusing a supple amount of driving synth and shimmering horns, Wallpaper.'s Dio Head over to the band's MySpace to listen to their other two tracks, "Better Things" and "I've Got Your Number" now.Remix sprinkles a healthy helping [...]

One of the most underrated electro duo's of 2007 was Teenage Bad Girl. Their music falls under the distorted/abrasive french electro category, but because of all the other talent that had come out at that time they were just left in the dust...not being discovered by the masses. Also, they hold claim to one of the best remixes in their genre (Scissor Sisters remix). Unfortunately, the duo has parted ways and it's unknown what could have come from them had they stayed together and received the kind of attention that other artists in the genre have [...]

Hello again, so I was digging and digging and digging this week for something appropriate. I found lots of good stuff, but nothing that is quite SofT Week material; it's gotta be premo. So I dug back through some of my older stuff again and found one that was huge for me in about 04-05. Scissor Sisters - Filthy/Gorgeous (Paper Faces Mix) [Dom Terrace Edit] You may have heard the original, but this Paper Faces mix is straight-up diva. You may know Paper Faces [...]

We bet you weren't aware that SCISSOR SISTERS played not one, but two secret shows in NYC this week. If it makes you feel any better, we didn't know either. The band put together the shows in order to play a lot of new material off their next record (11 total). The band donned two fake names ( Queef Latina on Monday, and Debbie's Harry on Tuesday) at the Mercury Lounge . Like the many like us, we were not aware of the show until after the fact. But our buddies [...]
