What a better way to kick off Gay Pride week than hit up the Scissor Sisters' show at the Fox? Clearly, this was a shared thought with most of the audience who were bedazzled in sparkles or barely anything at all. Not to be outdone, Jake Shears sported a few looks over the course of the night, removing one tantalizing article of clothing at a time. Ana Matronic was resplendent in a beautiful green dress, her hair in a delicate twist. Going through a mixture of old and new songs with bright colorful lights flashing, the Scissor Sisters put on a truly fantastic show. Ending the [...]

De Scissor Sisters scoorden een paar jaar geleden een kneiter van een wereldhit met het belachelijk catchy nummer I Don't Feel Like Dancing.

this week's cutie is the brand new Scissors Sisters video directed by Lorenzo Fonda

Mika is an interesting artist. Tons of fun, amazing live, sounds a lot like Freddy Mercury and yet most of my immediate friends either don't listen to him or know who he is. This is a problem. Now, Mika is preparing to release his third studio album, The Origin of Love. Although we haven't heard the first single from the album, we have been awarded with a song off the album paired with a video commissioned by Mika himself. The song, is quite outside the bubbly, fun sound of his first album as well as the more contemplative moments of [...]

ARTIST: Scissor Sisters - [Album] DATE: 06-14-12 REVIEW BY: Scott Homiak Magic Hour , the latest from Scissor Sisters, is no Night Work but that's just fine. The NYC-based dance-pop group reached the culmination of condensing forty years of club-going culture into one band's discography on their last full-length. The undertaking was of such deadly seriousness [view more]

Photo of Frontiers Magazine by G. Happy Pride Month for all those that are out and proud! Personally, I celebrate every day, but I am not your typical brainwashed person. In case you have not picked up Scissor Sisters new album "Magic Hour," do so immediately! It's available now. It's not as cohesive as their [...]
Scissor Sisters 's new video is for new single 'Baby Come Home'. Jake Shears in a nun's habit, and in armour? You have to see it to believe it. Giggle. The band have announced a tour for this October; for all the details, go here. Click here to view the embedded video.

I can't think of a better track to kick-start the weekend. Featuring a classic 702s piano line that rivals "Saturday Night's Alright" and "Honky Cat", as well as one of the year's best disco-funk beats, it's a one-song argument for the superiority of independently produced dance music. I played it again as soon as it ended. I'm sure you will too. And while you're at it, check out the Scissor Sister's latest studio album, Magic Hour . (Their fourth.) Firstly, don't ask me what is going on with that artwork. I don't have a clue, but some things can definitely be said about it: it's striking, and will divide opinion, much like the band whose album sleeve it adorns. I've long been aware of Scissor Sisters, but until now, that has meant only the singles. I can probably speak for quite a few others in that respect, but in case you weren't aware, they can produce pretty good albums too, if their latest, Magic Hour , is anything to go by. There is an underlying disco [...]
