I'm troubled. Deeply troubled. Gavin Hardkiss as God Within has produced some quite brilliant music. Q-Burns Abstract Message produced some lovely offbeat dance music in the 90s and some excellent Balearic remixes more recently. And they're together for a remix. This should be fantastic... but I just don't like it. Worse. It's dull. But I can't quite put my finger on why. Am I missing something? Blurb: After his acclaimed binary star-studded album Technicolor Dreamer and its epic intergalactic remixes, Scott Hardkiss introduces a new collaboration through his God Within label. It's with buzzing [...]
Now Available From Beatport: True story: Q-Burns Abstract Message once DJ'ed underneath a weighty chainsaw covered in disco ball mirror squares, rotating roundly with silver beams flying off its blade.Imagine such a devious device honed for dancefloor devastation, its rumble tuned to bassbin frequencies as its saw cuts through beats and melody. But we're talking about a chainsaw wielded by beardy

Producer/DJ Scott Hardkiss ' "Come On, Come On" is a catchy song (it's streaming at his MySpace , check it out). If you happen to be so addicted to the track that listening to it on repeat isn't enough, you're in for a treat - he just released an EP full of remixes and alternate versions of the tune. We're talking downtempo, dub, break, and funky interpretations of the song; Come On, Come On (Part II) features contributions from DJ Phunkae, Joe Clausell (of Body & Soul and Sacred Rhythm), ex-Luna members Dean & [...]
Come On, Come On is taken from the highly-anticipated debut full-length album Technicolor Dreamer by Scott Hardkiss. For the album, Scott steps out from behind the turntables to handle most vocals and instruments himself and brings together a myriad of artists and genres to create a fun, funky & surreal dance-pop record. Filed under: Concerts and Tours , News Known more for his DJ skills, Scott Hardkiss took some time away from the turntables and took over the mic at Brooklyn's Knitting Factory on Saturday night. Hardkiss played alongside Stevvi Alexander and Bobby Harden, guitarist J Bowman and drummer Guy Licata to form Scott Hardkiss and the Technicolor Dreamer Band. Indie singer Britta Phillips, who collaborated with Hardkiss on his 2009 debut album 'Technicolor Dreamer,' also joined the band for this one-off performance before touring Australia with Dean and [...]

Robbie & Scott Hardkiss return for one night only!

The original Hardkiss brothers will play their first DJ set together in NYC for over a decade. Scott Hardkiss & The Technicolor Dreamer Band will open the night, featuring guest drummer Guy Licata from Hercules & Love Affair.

DJ/Producer Scott Hardkiss has put together a full LP, Technicolor Dreamer. Scott recruited a "musically eclectic, multi-cultural, and poly-sexual group" for the making of this record, which was recorded mostly at his place close to ground zero. The way the press release is written, it's like Scott pretty much hit record and all these people had one big orgy/party/recording session. That's not to say that the songs are sloppily put together in any shape or form. Quite the contrary, and the album's artwork is something I have not seen in years. Hardkiss pressed up the CD with a [...]
