Toronto - It's f'n Tuesday, but Monday was a bit of a write-off for me. Anyways, here is another long forgotten band from the UK Music wastebin of 1998-2002. With one of the worst band names of all time, the English band Seafood was formed in 1996 and and enjoyed a brief moment of non-anonymity in the early 2000s when everyone in England was searching long and hard for the next big band that could ignite the next great period in UK music. Sadly, Seafood was not that band but in it's time, it had some pretty good [...]

I didn't sleep or shower the night before my senior class trip to Baltimore, MD. I was too busy clowning around in a life size iguana cage. To try and hide my fatigue and poor hygiene, I wore a sweater and a knit cap. Unfortunately my attire drew the attention of some mall cops in Baltimore and they kicked me out. This was a big deal because it was my only source of entertainment in the tourist trap part of town where we were ordered to remain. To entertain myself for the next six hours I wandered through [...]

In 2009 "buzz" is measured in blog postings, the apex being a snarky deflation on Hipster Runoff. In 2000 it comprised a 50-word puff-piece in indie bog-roll The Fly , and a word-of-mouth endorsement by gravel-voiced Bullingdon Arms promoter the Sarge. GMS saw an awful lot of bands at the Bully in the autumn of 2000, in the process of organising our own gigs. Each and every one had a buzz about them; let's see where that got them. Holy Roman Empire were an endearing, confusing, local [...]

Seafood were a four piece from London that formed in the mid 90's, tagged as being a "post-grunge band", to date they have 4 full albums and a mini album/EP. If you like your Sonic Youth and the like then I reckon you'll like Seafood, sadly they recently called it a day, so no chance of seeing them live, if you are looking for a good starting place I'd recommend you start with 'Messenger in the Camp. In this hour, we discussed J's sudden utilization of 20th century technology, we talked up a good man segment, and we took a call from Carter , who has a cool deal going on over on his blog . Turns out seafood isn't just tasty and a desirable source of Omega-3 fatty acids. But, historically, it could have given homo sapiens a leg up over neanderthals in the competition to survive. According to a new study by scientists at the Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology in Leipzig, Germany, it was our ability to eat fish which prevented human populations from thinning when there were game shortages. Such flexibility may explain why modern humans thrived in ancient Europe while Neanderthals perished, says Hervé Bocherens , a biological anthropologist at the University of [...]

I can't come up with anything proper to write today. My mind is muddled and crowded with all kinds of thoughts. But, I can't do justice to sort them out one by one. They all crowd me and I can't write about them today. And the other thing is my senses are all off today. They just don't seem to be working right. Senses are a funny thing and when they are off, it basically shuts you down. There are many strange things happening in my life right now and maybe that's part of the problem. I just [...]

Image From Here Well, needless to say, summer is probably my most favorite season of the year. Down here in Florida it is hard sometimes to distinguish seasonal changes. Although, at times we do get some pretty chilly weather. But, for the most part it is usually sunny and warm. However, summer down here is downright hot and humid. I have a hard time getting out these days even though I live only a half mile from the beach. I just can't get myself out - severe agoraphobia. Plus, the fact that I've [...]

HAHAHA ...so much suck. [ Rolling Stone ] Bulls are in the playoffs! I know one particular Chicago sports blog is super jazzed , along with a particular Chicago rapper. [ Not Qualified to Comment ] How about this for a hell of a bargain: go to Jarvis Cocker's website , listen to a track off his upcoming album, and if you like it, give him your e-mail address in exchange for the song! You've clicked already, right? [ JarvisCocker.net ] Haha, this is probably the best thing [...]

image from here She used to say those three words. She would say them at what always seemed to be the right time. And at the time, those words felt right and real. But looking back now, there was always a little bit of hesitation when those words were said. Just enough to make you wonder and doubt. Why at the time did I not see this? And the other thing is, I would ask her to promise things to me. I know now that was a stupid thing to do; childish and insecure. But [...]
