Among them was blue-eyed soul crooner Mayer Hawthorne, who appeared on highlight "Love in Motion." SebastiAn (born as Sebastian Akchoté) is a French DJ and producer who has been around for a while, but we've yet to introduce him here on The Chuckness. I was able to catch the end of his set at Electric Zoo and definitely enjoyed what I heard. I don't love the original version of "Love In Motion" but it's worth checking out so you can appreciate the differences. New remix from Skrillex that I'm totally digging. He's taken SebastiAn and Mayer Hawthorne's 'Love In Motion' and turned it inside out. The more subtle bassline bears little resemblance to the original, yet Sonny manages to tie things together nicely by keeping the funky vibe to back the nice vocals from Hawthorne. It is rare that a producer blows my mind to the point where I feel the need to rethink entirely the capabilities of a DJ's stageshow. Ed Banger's French hard electro candidate, Sebastian, performed at the Avalon last Friday and it was, well, pretty terrifying, terrifyingly awesome. Today I've got a surpsingly calm new dubstep from the king of abrupt noises and heavy amount of bass, Skrillex. He took the very chill track 'Lov in Motion by SebastiAn ft. Mayer Hawthorne and turned into an amazing remix. It starts off with a chilled out dubstep vibe, sounding unlike most of the Skrillex tracks out. Then it starts to buildup, and eventually drops to that signature all over the place bass explosion sound with some of the high pitched Moombahton noises. Turn up the bass, enjoy! Skrillex's funky take on SebastiAn and Mayor Hawthorne's 'Love in Motion' is sweet Skrilly goodness. I can see why he decided on the name Funkt-Out remix, with lows that are very bouncy and fun. This doesn't diminish the power of the signture Skrillex dub drop though, as he brings the thunder and lightning like usual. My recommendation: Definitely get this track. Here is a new track from Skrillex that I wasn't really expecting. Total is a great album and some of the remixes were great, but I definitely didn't see a Skrillex remix on the horizon. In general the track is pretty smooth and mellow with some very familiar Skrillex drops mixed in, which creates a very nice track with some great vocal samples.
