Winnipeg's Carly Maicher's voice is beautifully captivating. Her new album Hiding is just as delicate. Hiding features some other Canadian names like Zachary Lucky . See You Soon is a track off this new album and it demonstrates in some beautiful optimism behind those feelings of loneliness. Carly Maicher- See You Soon Bandcamp

When we set out to make these lists at the end of each year, we usually try to include tracks that aren't on the Best of Albums List to narrow down the choices. This year we took a more honest approach, but it was terrible to cut 365 days worth of songs down to a mere 25 tracks. We changed them up until the last possible minute, driving ourselves, our loved ones, and each other crazy with our "what if..."s. In the end, though, these are the songs that made us hit repeat, and carried us [...]

"See You Soon", featured here from York UK (we totally thought he was American too!) singer-songwriter Benjamin Francis Leftwich's "Pictures" EP, is the sort of song that takes a tremendous talent to compose. The lyrical imagery; an empty jet bound for leaving, a light without a spark inside a car bound to see your friends; are specific but they're also imagined in a way; images of a past love in a place that's not you. The melodic lines are framed by simple guitar strums set to a simple downbeat. The spare guitar, the stark evocative images, the hushed melodies, it's [...]

Casual readers (sports jacket & slacks) may wonder at the interest in multiple-bloody-versions of one song. I can't really explain it myself - better ask all the people who come here & play 'em. I do know that digging out so many, does involve a willingness to listen again & again, to (sometimes) near-identical performances; and it's a puzzle how that sits with my restless search for novelty . But sit it does - I'll happily have one good thing on repeat - then cast off to find the next one. [...]

See You Soon is an acoustic powerpop act with an emphasis on her faith, featuring the musical styling's of little known Sarah from Fresno California. Her solo project and recent EP Don't Give Up offers listeners seven beautiful acoustic tracks. See You Soon is notable for her sweet vocals and relaxing melodies, producing songs that are calm and sombre throughout. Although her music can be touted as overly repetitious, I find it's easily listenable quality makes it a worthwhile EP. From start to finish Don't Give Up is a nice mixture of acoustic guitar and wonderful female [...]
