Being compared with The Flaming Lips, MGMT and Midlake might have an adverse effect on a band. It could either go to their heads, leading them to only go on to disappoint. Or, it could be a critical burden that could only lead to burn out while trying not to disappoint. Upon entering Bimbos 365 aka San Franciscos classiest venue, I could tell that Atlas Sound (the solo project of Deerhunter frontman Bradford Cox) had its own diverse audience. Fellow San Francisco band Seventeen Evergreen have just been announced as the opener for the Tycho show this Saturday at The Independent . They recently released this Terri Timely directed video for Polarity Song . Incredible color and definition in this.
