Shaper Pulsating with a certain ramshackle vibrancy, Leeds based Shaper's winding post-punkish pop hits upon some intriguingly great moments interspersed with some head-scratching ones in its disorienting 5 minutes of sparkling guitars, galloping drums, horribly cheap keyboards and spirited teenage belting, coming together for some Wu Lyf recalling artsy bros chants only to disassemble again for proggily off-kilter interludes. Chicago's Shapers arrived with an eruption! The newly formed four piece bonded based on a shared passion for sonic explorations. The resulting material playfully experiments with atmospheric waves, ambient soundscapes, squalling jazz blasts and pulsing Kraut-rock. Their debut album Little, Big, released last winter, garnered massive praise around their hometown. Whistler Records is releasing Shapers next missive, Happy Birthday Polywog, on November 16th and the band will hit the road to the East Coast and back. Earlier this month, we informed you of the new 7" coming from Chicago's krautrockers Shapers . Now, they've gone an made a wickedly psychedelic video for the 7"'s B-side, "Happy Birthday Polywog". The noisy, rhythmic jackhammer of a song features guest vocals from Joe Carsello of the band Lasers and Fast and Shit . The 7" also contains the track "Virginia Reel" and is set to drop on November 16 via Whistler Records.
