MidaZ the Beast takes a break from murdering tracks to sit down and explain the concept behind his upcoming project LOOPS that drops on August 2 for FREE at MidaZthebeast.bandcamp.com. In this short documentary directed by Varras Tower, the Doxside Music Group emcee (joined by project co-producer SHARP) talk about why this project is unlike any other entry in his catalog. And to give you a taste for what's in store, the whole thing is preceded by a clip for LOOPS song "Speech Impediment."

Esto es lo que sucede cuando pones cumbia poblana en manos del gran Mashupero Argentino VILLA DIAMANTE al cual el canadiense SHARPS hizo este edit cumbiastepero. This is what happens when cumbia poblana gets dirty in the hands of a great Mashup Producer as VILLA DIAMANTE from Argentina, and then gets edited by SHARPS as a cumbiastep edit. C'est ce qui se produit quand cumbia poblana devient sale dans les mains d'un grand producteur de Mashup comme VILLA DIAMANTE d'Argentine, et puis obtient édité par SHARPS pendant qu'un cumbiastep éditent. Ashtar Command is the result of the magnificent union between two veterans of music, producer Chris Holmes and Brian Liesegang, former member of Nine Inch Nails and Filter. As if that wasn't enough, the duo just released their new album, American Sunshine expanding their collaborative reach with Joshua Radin, Z Berg and a spectacular appearance by Alex Ebert in the track "Save Me". There is nothing on "Save Me" that doesn't scream majestic. The frontman of Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes elevates the track from a whimsical entrance into a burst of vocal grandeur [...]

This isn't a complicated remix - a hypnotic bass buzzer below with a few electro-glitches on top - but it makes the vocals in it all the more soothing. I love what bass//electo music does to folk songs... as long as they don't go too far with it. But what do y'all think? Got any other Edward Sharpe electro-remixes in ya pocket? Edward Sharpe & The Magnetic Zeros - Home (Whole-Z Remix) [...]

Intergalactic super collective of rock veterans Chris Holmes and Brian Liesegang team up with the one and only Alex Ebert for a stellar collaboration. Folky, anthemic, Ziggy Stardust and commercial are just few words to describe the record which talks the masses. Ashtar Command - Save Me (feat. You may remember RTD's outstanding project Offshore Drilliing , but if you don't here's a quick rundown from Khal himself: Two years ago, producer Kid Hum allowed me to throw some talented MCs over his Fossil Fuel album. The fruits of that labor became Offshore Drilliing , which not only netted scores of legal torrent downloads through FrostClick, but also received critical acclaim, and CMJ charting. In short, the results completely exceeded what I figured would happen (i.e., a dope [...]

It seems as if all my posts have been about fall and how excited I am for fall, so it is getting really old, really fast. This is my last post about fall. I promise. After a crazy summer regarding the future of the NFL, we finally have football! And more importantly, this ad . Now, it is not really the ad that I want to highlight. What I want to highlight is EXACTLY what fall means to me. The obsession itself begins when I was a freshman in college. I was an international student with absolutely [...]
Sinead O'Connor What a funny old world we live in. When O'Connor was booked for this year's Electric Picnic, it seemed a sensible - if unspectacular - move. The festival has a history of presenting artists at all stage of their career, and the time is probably right for some kind of reappraisal of herr catalogue. Since then, of course, there have been certain developments that have taken Friday's performance to whole new level. Really, the sexual storm in a tea cup is just another example of her pushing Ireland's buttons but now, instead of shocking [...]
Written by Matt Wilding To my shame Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeroes are a band that I only became aware of last week. Compounding my shame even further I only became aware of their existence when I happened to be hear their song ‘Home’ on Fearne Cotton’s Radio One show. That this instantly infectious song has been around for a few years, without me hearing it, felt like an instant travesty, but I’m somewhat of a musical throwback anyway, so don’t let this fact deter you from sampling their quality. [...]
Chapin Herman, sent me this video last week. He directed it and he did an awesome job at it. Not to mention the great work that the performs did to making the covers to Skrillex, Adele, Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros. This is the first episode of FluxCity TV's Summer Sessions and hopefully not [...]

From Being Funny On Television Tour . Ahora, y en el marco de la grabación de su programa Conan Concert Series , la hippie crew de Edward Sharpe and the Magnetic Zeros se [...]
