Our hommie BadboE just gave away this little number today, he did a pretty good job of making it all work together. He flips Sugar Hill, Cheryl Lynn, Tom Browne and a lil Tupac all together that makes for a nice little cut and paste type remix. Which for some reason reminds me of a gig I did at Policy in DC a while back, anyway I was playing this awesome cut and paste thing that DJ B.Cause did and some girl came up and asked if I could play some rap. I knew what she wanted, but [...]

Only in a meta-riffic modern world could Mashable write that these non-existent social network shelltoes (pics above and below) "aren't available for purchase," and, thanks to Facebook and Twitter (and Gawker , to a degree), still inspire countless heads to (potentially) comment them into existence. Until Adidas turns this wish into reality (it surely won't be the lamest limited edition ever ), for now Southie tough guys and their yuppie neighbors should find something else to bond over. Banana Republic scally caps? LinkedIn New Era B-hats? The possibilities are endless.

"When I drink Tea, It's usually Tetley" The Busking Champions of the South West, Hedluv & Passman are back with that difficult 2nd LP. Having confused/delighted/irritated audiences near and far, from Brazil to a string of 40th birthday parties " Dreckly " is the first taster of their new material. Its everything you'd expect from Hedluv, ie. is it bad, is it good? Have Morris Minor & The Majors reformed? Daft, unabashed and embarrassment free as Hedluv lays his rhymes over Casio keyboard loops. As many people will hate this as love [...]

My homie Glen of The Shelltoes just dropped an EP of old remixes he brewed up several years ago, and they are straight fiya, smooth fiya. I been really feeling them because of their "grown folk" sound and the honesty in the music. Download the EP here and keep your eyes on this Aussie duo.

No tea and biscuits?! Definitely a bummer. But don't be fooled by the flippant title of this collection. The emotional output of this EP runs far deeper than such superficial disappoints. In fact The Shelltoes might be doing themselves a disservice by saying that their music blends jazz, hip-hop (this part is true) and "that feeling when you open the pantry and there's no English Breakfast left. Or there is, but there's no milk. Heartbreaking stuff." Far from the novelty that verbiage suggests, The Shelltoes - made up of two Aussies, DJ/producer Glen Coates and vocalist Kyla Sexton - are [...]

I love having friends send music my way. Shout outs to my girl Jacqueline over at The Mint Collective for sending me this sweet EP from Australian outfit, The Shelltoes. Mixing jazz and Hip Hop is a no brainer, but having good vocals to solidify this combination makes it all the better. Peep their website here and download the EP while you're at it. Show the Aussies some love. Peep their cover of Bjork below. Awesome. The Shelltoes - I Miss You [...]
April was one hell of a month. Lily hit America, new members were introduced into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, No Doubt released its first new song in roughly six years, Eminem dropped his first (hugely underwhelming) video from his forthcoming album Relapse and a group of Frenchmen played SNL. But aside from all of that are Culture Bully's favorite things from the month of April 2009.
