Shontelle who was inspired by Red Rat's mega hit "Tight Up Skirt" and some of Beenie Man's spicy lyrics has cooked up a very island-inspired track called "Freaky" featuring Gyptian. Using her Barbadian accent, the diva uses countless patwa slangs to explain how she keeps the boys in her yard, she shared that they love [...] Shontelle 'Freaky' Feat. Compiling these "Best of" posts is the most strenuous thing about the "blog game". So basically, since I'm sick of looking at this, just reference our lists to get a general feel for how we vibed out 2011. Also, and I think I can speak for Markus on this one too, the ranking on a lot of our tracks is pretty loose. Thanks and best of luck to you all in 2012. I don't care how old this is, it's amazing. DJ Sliink remixed Shontelle (who?)'s 2010 single 'Impossible'. #beesknees The photo above is of Lucas Kittel by Lucio Luna via Made In Brazil . 'Impossible' (Sliink Remix) - Shontelle

I had never heard of this " Impossible " track before but apparently, with over 38 million plays on YouTube, it's a big deal. Not to be swayed by mainstream figures, I'm casting my vote for Sliink 's rework as the better version. Let it soak. Thanks to Brookah for bringing this to my attention during my stay in Paris and I couldn't be more excited to hear Dubbel Dutch scroll it out at our Signal launch party tonight. Shontelle wants to help you ring in the new year with a hot new dance tune entitled "Ten To One" produced by Rockwilder. The "Impossible" singer counts down to 2012 on the technoish song that was was released as a gift to her supporters. The Barbadian beauty who hopes that her song will be playing [...] Shontelle "Ten To One" : New Song is a post from: RnB Music Blog

Shontelle is in a giving mood right now. After tantalizing fans with a teaser of a new song on her Tumblr earlier this week, the "Impossible" crooner has finally debuted the new track in full: "Ten to One." Complimented by a steady uptempo pulse and chilly synthesizers, the song finds the Barbadian songstress bouncing along a beat similar to the bouncy space-pop of her last studio album, No Gravity . "When the clock strikes 12 tonight/Grab me, never let me go," the Barbadian songstress urges on the Rockwilder [...]
Retailer Opening Ceremony just released their fourth mix as part of their ongoing OC Mixtape Series. This particular mix stands out as Brenmar does what he does best and seamlessly mixes rap songs, rnb jams and dance tunes that we've at one time or another danced our asses to. Stream or download the mix below [...]

When it comes to Jersey Club there not many that can do it better than DJ Sliink , it seems like every couple of days he has a new track up for download on his soundcloud page. With a strong following in the scene you need to be really quick to get the free downloads he gives away though, always being limited to 100 downloads. Iv'e been lucky enough to grab quite a few Sliink tracks over the years, and one of my favourites that i've been playing out for a while now is his [...]

Photo courtesy of Travis Holliday. Last Friday night, the boys of the fabulous monthly NYC gay party GUMBO took their show on the road-migrating from their usual locale at the Galapagos Art Space in Brooklyn's DUMBO to the Canal Room in Tribeca. After a spirited opening (and NYC debut!) by electro-pop vixen 21st Century Girl , "Impossible" crooner and Bajan beauty Shontelle hit the stage to tear into some of her biggest hits off of her last two studio albums, Shontelligence and No Gravity . We knew that Loft965.com interviewee Shontelle is a big Beyonce fan, we didn't know she liked a little Rihanna too! Filed under: Beats , Clip Tagged: album , man down , music , new , rihanna , shontelle , single

Shontelle in "Say Hello To Goodbye" Shontelle once told us she didn't want to release her new single, "Say Hello To Goodbye," right after making major waves with another ballad, " Impossible ," as to avoid becoming the "dark ballad girl" or having people think she's "really emo." And though she stuck to her guns and released the dancey "Perfect Nightmare" from her sophomore album, No Gravity, next to break up the mellowness, "Impossible"'s shadow still lingers and even opting to release another mellow tune now could result in the emo [...]

AMAZING SINGLE SELECTION ALERT! Keri Hilson is set to shoot a video for "Lose Control (feat. Nelly )," one of the smoothest cuts off of her sophomore record, No Boys Allowed . The video will be helmed by Colin Tilley , the same director responsible for such clips as Hilson's "One Night Stand (feat. Chris Brown )," Shontelle 's "Perfect Nightmare" and Ciara 's "Speechless." Get it, Miss Keri Baby!

Meet Marirose , an unsigned 15-year-old singer from Chicago. After being featured on the ever adorable Michael Buckley 's What The Buck web series , Marirose has been getting some serious e-attention for her self-released debut single, "I Want Love." Months ago, "I Want Love" began to circulate on the web after being incorrectly labeled as a Rihanna demo. After one listen to the song, it's not hard to see why: Marirose's bold, melodic vocals have a distinct Rihanna-esque sort of grit: "I can't stop, won't stop [...]

Keri Hilson - Energy "Too bad we can't rewrite our own history" Before I was introduced to good underground hip hop and r&b, I actually found this track really soothing. I do admit I am one of those people that enjoy the beat of a song and say I like it over the lyrical content, but for me, this track did both. The song is very relatable, it's a really nice sound, and Keri Hilson's vocals are great! "Having nightmares of sleeping with the enemy". I think many have experienced that one love that [...]

Still hot from the Internet-killing, bandwidth-shattering success of yesterday's Top 40 Albums of 2010 list (including a most major of giveaways, in which I'm giving away ALL TEN ALBUMS that made the Top 10 of the list-you still have time to enter up until January 2!), I now present MuuMuse's Top 50 singles of 2010. There were a lot of good songs released during the year. A lot of them didn't end up making the list. It's entirely unjust and profoundly disturbing to think about, but what can you do? [...]
