![Shout Out Out Out Out @ Mavericks [October 22, 2011]](http://cdn.elbo.ws/posts/3811903_lg.jpg)
After seeing The Wooden Sky play an wonderful set at Raw Sugar Cafe. Decided to head down to Mavericks and see Shout Out Out Out Out . It's been two years since the band played live in Ottawa. At least the band is still around and haven't broken up. I couldn't wait to hear what the band has in store. Sadly I didn't get to see Freedom or Death play. But I heard it was a good set. [...]

It's been awhile since everyone last heard from Edmonton's Shout Out Out Out Out . The band is embarking their fall tour. If you haven't seen them live, you are in for a wild ride! Their music is filled with high intense electro-dance music. The only thing I am curious to see is how six members will fit into that small stage at Mavericks on October 22, 2011. Last time I saw them was at Ottawa Bluesfest in 2009!! [...]

Edmonton's favourite dance-punk hybrid, beat-heavy band Shout Out Out Out Out have been relatively quiet since 20092s Reintegration Time , but they're about to make some noise again as they prepare for the release of a new LP sometime this fall. The band is hitting the road with dates, starting with a stop in NYC for CMJ 2011 (which kicks off today),then heading to Montreal (Lambi) on October 21, Ottawa (Maverick's) on the 22nd, London's Call The Office on the 25th, Waterloo's Starlight on the 26th, [...]

Frank Yang Executive summary of this post: Arcade Fires's third album The Suburbs did what everyone kind of expected and won the 2011 Polaris Music Prize last night, and with the $30,000 giant novelty cheque comes loads of praise and under-the-breath mutterings about how they don't deserve it, though that'd have happened no matter who won. If you're the sort of person who only looks at the scoreboard and pays no attention to the boxscores, then you're done here. If you want the blow-by-blow about how [...]

Back-to-back Edmonton-related posts? Back-to-back Edmonton-related posts. Why? Well because when I think of fun Canadian cities, I think of Edmonton. Paul Coffey is my all-time favorite hockey player, Henry "Gizmo" Williams is my favorite all-time CFL player, and if you know my history, you know I'm an Edmonton rap-enthusiast of the highest order. Plus we were sent the link to a great (free) compilation featuring some of the excellent musical talent burbling out of The City of Champions. Do people still call Edmonton The City of Champions? I don't actually care, [...]

CBC Here we are - another September 2, another blogiversary and another year in the books of doing... whatever this is. I have to tell you, there's a great temptation on my end to use this occasion to get into some existential angst about where this site has been, where it might go and what on earth I'm going to do when it all inevitably ends (I've no idea and that's terrifying), instead I'm just going to say fuck it, I'll cross or fall off that bridge when I come to it. For now, [...]

by teepoo Happy Canada's Day! To celebrate I decided to feature music from all the provinces and territories. Believe it wasn't easy, especially for the territories, but here is some Canadian music I hope you will enjoy. There is no particular reason why I chose each of these artists out of all the artists from their respective provinces. Some of these are known, some unknown but I hope you will hear something new and enjoyable! BRITISH [...]

My mate Barry who recently started an excellent music blog - Barry Gruff highlights three artists who he thinks deserve more attention. Boe Weaver – Boe Weaver Boe Weaver are probably the most peculiar band to emerge so far this year, but who can't love an oddly named and faceless band? Their sound is a strange, exotic and heavy instrumental music with lashings of fuzzy northern soul, psychedelic surf rock, Krautrock jams and hugely influenced by spaghetti westerns and horror B-movie soundtracks. [...]

So, we made it! Congratulations! Another five-day extravaganza of free beer, demo discs, flannel, wondering of who will play Perez's party, and sleepless nights has come and gone. The 2010 edition of South by Southwest has come to a conclusion. And while many of you may already be well into your detox mode, we still have a few lasting memories, namely in the form of photographic evidence. Our travels took us to a slew of different showcases and parties with lineups featuring heavy hitters, old favorites, up-and-comers, and relative unknowns. We traveled to Stubbs on Wednesday to watch [...]

Austin - Edmonton natives Shout Out Out Out Out have a lot of equipment: And this doesn't even cover half of it, plus two drummers. Throw in the threat of their van outside the venue almost being towed, and you'd think you were in for a complete disaster. Not with these guys - they took it all in stride and despite those issues and technical problems they put on a great show. The electro beats and gymnastic stage antics satiated an eager crowd - my first dance party of the [...]
So, remember when we told you that we had one more act to add to our Thursday South by Southwest party with Sled Island Music Festival ? (You know, the one that already features Titus Andronicus, Surfer Blood, Rural Alberta Advantage, Of Montreal's James Husband, Jukebox the Ghost, Garotas Suecas, Brasstronaut, and Royal Bangs!!!)? Well, we can now reveal that Edmonton's Shout Out Out Out Out will be that band. Yep, we're adding a bit of pulsating dance punk to our bill! The Canadian sextet, which released its sophomore effort, Reintegration Time, last [...]
Given the volume of music available for consideration on One Track Mind, we invariably have to pass on a lot of tasty morsels. [tweetmeme] In a desire to share even more great, free music with you, the Sunday Sampler offers a handful of tracks without the usual critical and biographical write-up. Less talk, more tunes. This week, in keeping with our theme of devoting space to artists performing at this year's SXSW festival, we'll be dedicating the sampler to participating bands and let you know where you can find them if you are heading down [...]

We have your guide to the hottest bands, shows, and showcases at SXSW. Make sure to have a copy of this on hand. You won't want to leave home with out it. You're Welcome!

Heard of bands being 'big in Japan'? Well this band is big in Canada, which also happens to be where they're from. But luckily for us, Shout Out Out Out Out are going to be heading to Europe pretty soon - no small feat considering the 6 piece band has 2 drummers, 2 bassists, 11 synthesizers and a sampler/vocoder. This Malente remix of their track Self Loathing Rulz has been stuck in my head ever since I heard it in the early hours of this morning. It's 8-bit glitchiness is amazing. It's perfect for a Friday. I also unearthed a techno cover [...]

So I guess George will be giving you your snazzy year in review. I can still give you a few awesome tracks from this year, though. Some? Are definitely repeats of what's already been posted, but I won't assume you've been reading this all year. That would be pretty stupid of me. Before all that? I do want to share another song - not from this year - with you all. As you know, I have been posting a little of the stuff Deerhunter has made. "Disappearing Ink" is definitely amongst my top songs for this year, by [...]
30. The Traditionist - "I Know My Ocean"Joey Barro, the brain-child behind The Traditionist, turned out one of our favorite records of the year, the crushing Season to Season. "I Know My Ocean" remained one of the most approachable and re-listenable tracks on the record. Without over reading, it's a road-show, rambling bit of acoustic indie-rock. A harmonica shows up at one point, and a lazy
