SINGLE REVIEWS: The inbox has been flooding with music on a daily basis so the listening queue is getting longer and longer. So if I don't get right back to you please don't take it personally. When my ears perk-up like a dog that hears a sound with that sound is when I get excited and reminded why I do this for ya'll. To be fair though and as a general FYI I grab everything and put it in a For Review playlist and do the due dilligence and drop the needle in there and [...]

Tweet In the immortal words of Olivia Newton-John, Shuteye Unison says "Let's Get Physical!" in their new Kickstarter campaign : What are we trying to do? Simple, raise money to press our new album onto vinyl. It's been a long journey of late nights, heated musical debates and moments of pure shut-eyed unison. As of now, all we have to show for it are some digital ones and zeros. All donations will go to: - the record [...]

So much music to catch up with: Here's a quick snapshot of what's spinning in the Ripple CD player. The Cold Beat - Get Safe Hailing from Allston, MA, The Cold Beat could be defined as a sleeves-rolled up, working class, roots-level indy rock with an arm full of punk tattoos. Having delved deeply into their recently released split 7", I eagerly anticipated Get Safe , the trio's first long player, and I [...]
Grainy surf footage meets expansive, atmospheric indie rock in this video from SF band Shuteye Unison 's album Our Future Selves , out now on Parks and Records .

Shuteye Unison has announced the arrival of a new album, Our Future Selves , which will be available starting November 16th, 2010. This new album, another dose of fresh indie pop, is the latest since the band's 2008 self-titled release . Shuteye Unison - "Our Future Selves" (album preview) The album is coming out via Parks and Records , the local indie label with an extra-special purpose - a percentage of all album sales go directly to non-profits such as the National [...]

First coming to our attention on the strength of their stunning, ShutEye Unison CD, Parks and Records is the little label that could, combining their love of the great outdoors and indy music. The label was started by young lovers Jon and Mimi Fee whose mission is to build a community of like-minded musicians and fans, release passionate indie-pop/ noise-rock albums, reduce waste through 100% recycled/reused packaging, and support organizations dedicated to making our planet greener. With all that said, we couldn't wait to get John from Parks and Records to come on over to the Ripple Office and [...]

With the possible exception of my good friends at Fanatic Promotion , Will from Beartrap has probably sent more great artist music our way than anyone. We've featured several of the bands he works with, including Paper The Operator, Look Mexico, Boris Smile, and Empire! Empire! We've got some more music by four more bands, and it was extremely difficult to choose just one track from each to share. For all the whining the RIAA and others do about blogs sharing [...]
So I've been meaning to listen to this self-titled Shuteye Unison EP for like fucking forever now so I won't dilly dally here. It begins with the ambient/atmospheric/instrument al intro of " CRF 030608" and segues right into "Tomorrow's Five Horizons" which sounds (to me) like what M83 might sound like if they didn't have synthesizers and weren't neutered. Next comes "Fields Landing" which starts off slow and breathy but about 2/3 of the way through the fuzzed out guitars rip the song wide open but at a running time of over seven minutes, there is plenty to [...]
Here's a record you will play for your friends. Shuteye Unison's [Offical Site, Myspace] debut on Parks and Records is a swelling, dramatic release, hearkening back to the days of Sunny Day Real Estate, and, dare I say, Clarity era Jimmy Eat World. Relaxed and warm, Shuteye Unison sound like an instrumental [...] [[ This is a content summary only. Visit my website for full links, other content, and more! ]]

I wish it was autumn. That's the first thing I thought of as the new Shuteye Unison self-titled debut spun around in the Ripple CD player, it's gentle tones sparkling through the speakers. I wish it was autumn. It's hard to explain, but something about the music, the dreamy, shimmering indie pop of Shuteye Unison just makes me think of brisk autumn days, a cool breeze lilting through the trees, rustling the leaves, stirring them to revel in their glorious tones of red, orange and gold. A simple [...]
