Bachelorette From: Christchurch, New York, United States After Newcastle (see feature Newcastle United ), Christchurch is the next most featured city outside of the US on this year's Devil's blog. Following on from the recent feature on City Kids Records ( Christ You Know It Ain't Easy ) today's post is on the oddly captivating home recording tinkerer Annabel Alpers aka Bachelorette. Annabel has a sound all of her own, a sound that just has to be [...]

I am now a contributor to the blog for Dossier Journal ! I made my first post about the BBC4 Documentary Synth Britannia , which is what I spent 90 illustrious minutes heavily absorbed in last night per Devine's recommendation. Here is the documentary in its (near) entirety. The 9th installment was taken offline for some God-awful reason.
We were joined by guest DJ Nick Hills (with a silent H) and his trusty box of seven-inch disques des années Sixties. Verity was busy finishing her PhD, and so there were just three. Here's the setlist, with our picks of the night, including TWO Kinks cover versions - one in French and one on Synths: Sarah Devo – Patterns David Bowie – Fashion Roxy Music – The Thrill of it All Les Roche Martin – Les [...]
classic video alert!! disco new wave synth pop from 1979 Silicon Teens was the band of Mute Records creator Daniel Miller (music and vox). Mute would later be home to such acts as Depeche Mode, Erasure, Moby and Goldfrapp, to name only few. [via Synthtopia ]
"What you got there? That ain't no fiddle." "Mister...this here's a cotton-pickin', finger-lickin', barbecued, 110-volt Nashville Moog." In 1972, Gyl Trythall made an "experimental" album called C... Continue reading "Gil Trythalls, 'Nashville Moog'" >

In 1972's Adventure Comics #418, a women's self defense organization... ...turns out to be a front for something sinister. In 1994's Captain America #431, a project to champion gender equality by unlocking women's full potential... ...turns out to be a front for something sinister. In 2007's Countdown to Infinite Crisis , a seemingly begin women's [...]
