For years, Trouble & Bass threw some of the best monthlies in NYC, from reckless renegade shenanigans at Boogaloo to huge rave-ups at Studio B. In 2010, we took a hiatus while T&B crew members focused on their various projects and travels. But we got bored with going out, straight up. We've decided that maybe NYC is in need of some of the wild and weird bass flavors that put T&B and Brooklyn bass on the map in the first place. On Friday the 13th (of April), we're taking the night with the return of Trouble & Bass NYC, an [...]

Both Swindle (pictured above) and Silkie have been mainstays in their respective scenes for a while: Swindle has a solid reputation within the Grimier circles of music, producing for the likes of Wiley, Ghetto and Footsie as well as releasing his own records through Planet Mu, it should also be noted he was a founding member of Butterz ; Silkie on the other hand has been generally associated with Dubstep, with collaborations with the likes of Skream and Mizz Beats under his belt. On top of that he has released two albums on Mala's Deep [...]

West London born and raised, Silkie started producing grime and garage at the tender age of 15. Part of the Anti Social collective alongside Quest, Harry Craze and J5, nowadays his sound joins the dots between dubstep, UK garage and Detroit techno. Having released records on Anti Social's own imprint Break The Habit as well as Skream's Disfigured Dubz and the legendary Soul Jazz address, he is now signed to Mala's quality house, Deep Medi. This mighty mix of custom dubplates was recorded live for the Mix Mondays Series at Red Bull Studios [...]

There is something beautiful in trinities. How they say things come in threes. The third times a charm. A trio. Third place. There's a beautiful mythos with the number "33. Anyway, I'm not making any sense right now, I'm just describing my cover. I thought of it because I'm a huge Zelda fan. TRIFORCE! You're not here for my ranting, you're here for tunes. And tunes you shall have. Everything new under the sun, and they are all sonically beautiful. 19 tracks of boom. And always, if you're feeling the music please support these artists. We all have to eat. [...]

For all the Rebel readers who dig the deeper sound of bass, you've probably already heard of the hype surrounding Outlook Festival in Croatia going down this September 1-4.. Now in its fourth year, the festival draws an unparalleled caliber of artists from the dubstep, dub, reggae, hip hop, grime, drum & bass, jungle, house, garage, techno, electronica & beats subsets of the larger global bass community, housed over four days in an abandoned Roman fort on the Adriatic coast. Following my unreal experience at the festival last year, I imagined it would be hard for [...]
