New York's Expensive Looks has teamed once again with Silver Wren to release the duo's latest track "Hyperdrive." Sampling from their previous collaborative track, "Me & You," as well as chopped-up pieces from Natalie Imbruglia 's "Torn," the duo have created a new, hyper-dance track that does stray not too far from their roots in psych-pop and psych-folk. "It was fun to make," said Silver Wren frontman Ross Campbell. "Definitely outside of what I usually work on." As well as releasing the new track, Campbell stated that he will be completed [...]

Welcome to Monday Threesome , where we bring you three bands with a particular theme and direct you to their free music. This week, we have bedroom auteurs whose musical projects rose from the great tradition of musicians developing tracks on their own. These three bands, Happy Birthday (@happybirthdayz), Silver Wren and Duchess Leo (@duchessleo), may all be "bedroom pop", but they approach this personal style in very different ways. We hope you enjoy! [...]

Download: Silver Wren - Estranger As a sophomore in college, I have only begun to grasp the idea of how many doors of opportunities are just waiting to be opened. Needing to get involved with at least one organization on campus, I recently took it upon myself to get involved with a university-affiliated campus newspaper in the arts and entertainment section for, you guessed it, music. Browsing through my emails one night, I stumbled upon a message from my editor informing the staff writers of upcoming pitches and [...]

Florida based Ross Campbell is Silver Wren and in March this year he was inspired to produce something experimental yet accessible. The result was the 'Window In The Wreath' EP (it's the compiled result of two-mini EP's he recorded in his bedroom over the summer). We've got a remix of the lead track to get you started: Silver Wren - 'Crystalline (Expensive Looks Remix)'

Tweet It's a rainy Saturday where I am, so what could be better than some ethereal psych-folk to pass the time? Luckily, Silver Wren is on hand to provide just that. The solo project of Gainsville, Florida-based Ross Campbell, Silver Wren started in March this year, and has already yielded two mini EPs. Ross has now taken the bulk of them, given it a bit of a polish, and released it as the five-track "Window In The Wreath". It's a pretty engrossing listen. [...]

You can see why Tampa-hailing Silver Wren's bandcamp notes specify the following: " Intended and mixed for headphone-listening. " Each song contains a brushing of textures; all subtle on their own but together, they morph into this beautiful rush of warm air. This is particularly the case with 'Estranger' : a lightly-plucked acoustic guitar plays the sweetest tune it can think of as vocals resemble a whisper and cannon against a luscious, warm entourage. It almost [...]

We had this Tampa, Florida dude named Ross Campbell on these pages a while back when he recorded fragile folk songs under the moniker Somelsewhere . That particular fact hasn't really changed now, but Campbell's sound has evolved considerably nonetheless towards a more experimental leaning bedroom folk with some subtle hints of psych, so the name change to Silver Wren does make sense. Native Fears is the first song for his new project, and I am pretty stoked by the beautiful melancholy Campbell has once again released into the world. [...]
