by kevin diamond Is there such a thing as perfection in art, life, or work? Is work for work's sake a noble goal? Or art for art's? How about pleasure? Why do we push ourselves to accomplish the things that we feel are important, and why are those important things different from person to person? Wouldn't it be easier if we all lived like ants, maintaining a common goal and sense of purpose? Or would we loose out on the rainbow-like spectrum of human emotion? When [...]
You all should be thanking me for these! Personal collection type of shit. Meaning I worked hard to find and rip these! They're two bootlegs that are practically impossible to find floating around anywhere. I have tons of records like these. Just ask George. I seem to like the really corny bootlegs. It so happens that some of these "corny bootlegs" are going to absolutely destroy a dance floor. These are two of them. First off is the Beastie Boys VS Alan Braxe. This is a mash-up. Not a proper remix. Still unbelievable. It had the [...]
Sister Mantos - No God Hedonistic, brooding (do those two go together?) and sinfully enjoyable electro pop from LA's Oscar Miguel Santos. Look out for this guy as he will be touring Europe this summer promoting a debut album for Sweetheart Society .

Wait for the jolly first part to finish for the twisted (literally) part.

I'm back from San Diego, have gone through my photos and finally removed the blur on all the photos from the bit of fuzz that invaded my camera body sometime in San Diego. After a few wonderfully hot and sunny days, the weather turned cloudy when Sis rolled into town. With no opportunity for a serious tan, she and I decided to turn each new beach and cliff into a bizarre photo shoot. The parents were ready to ground us at the point that we started doing weird senior photos--we are way too old to pass for high schoolers. [...]

No that the last government is on a permanent vacation, their kin and friends are up in arms trying to condone what the last incumbent US government did. In all reality, here is Liz Cheney, who looks like an intellegent woman, trying to give excuses to the suffocation of people under water. Waterboarding, to her, is not considered torture. I wonder what she does for fun. The republicans are mad because Obama decided to release information about the methods of torture. They are claiming this revelation would put the US [...]

Sisters at Dead Herring, photo from Nicki Ishmael's Flickr This past Saturday I went to apartment/venue Dead Herring to catch Boston's Pants Yell! who are one of the best indie-jangle bands out there. And they were great. But the surprise of the night was Brooklyn duo Sisters who kind of blew me away, both through some great songs and the volume and wallop with which they played them. I've seen drummer Matt Conboy around the neighborhood [...]
