Juan Maclean , frontman to his contemporary self titled project was initially part of the dance-punk group Six Finger Satellite that emerged in 1990. The Providence, Rhode Island band captured a significant following and are still recognized today for their prophetic fusion of electronic and post-punk music. Although I am a fan of just about everything that Six Finger Satellite released during their run, it's Severe Exposure that greatly stands out to me among the bands discography. All of their later records were pretty amazing as well, but Severe Exposure just has it all. The bands post-punk influenced brand of mega abrasive noise-rock was truly an interesting one.
