(photo by Fabio Motta) Wow wow wow. We can't help but love every time we get anything in our inbox from the Brazilian kids in Database . Every new message promises something really really good and unique. They seem to always deliver, which is a really understated way of describing this new remix. N.A.S.A. 's original mix for "A Volta" was straight-up dancehall with peppered in hip hop thanks to Amanda Blank's contributions. The Database treatment, though, is a slithering, hypnosis-inducing mechanically charged take, with chops and squelches pretty much everywhere to be [...]
Another video from N.A.S.A 's upcoming The Spirit of Apollo album coming on the 20th of February. Everyone knows Fatlip rules and N.A.S.A (North America South America) is like a Handsome Boy Modeling School for 2009 on crack. The album features: Karen O, Lykke Li, Fatlip, Tom Waits, George Clinton, David Byrne, Z-Trip, Seu Jorge, Santogold, Krs-One, Cool Kids, Wu Tang (Method Man, Ghostface, RZA, ODB), Chali 2na, Gift of the Gab, DJ Swamp, John Frusciante, Amanda Blank, Spank Rock, Lovefoxxx, Sizzla, M.I.A, Nick Zinner, Kool Keith, Del Tha Funkee Homosapien [...]

This is an unreleased remix to a song Beatnick & K Salaam produced for the album " Whose World Is This " featuring Mos Def and Sizzla. It's pretty funky. I like this combining of Hip Hop and reggae better than B Real & Damian Marley's attempt " Fire ". Here's what Beatnick and/or K-Salaam had to say about this one: We did a song with Mos Def & Sizzla that we were planning to put on our "Whose World Is This?" album. However, due to clearance issues, the song never made the album, so it sort of became one of those "unreleased, underground classics." Spotted at illRoots . Mos Def ft. Sizzla - Victory (Prod. We were discussing - at some point or other - the glories and the pitfalls of 'dark' music.
I'm not sure if I've been under a rock on this one, but I've never heard of N.A.S.A. (the DJ duo, not the space agency). Luckily for them, they were obviously on the radars of more important people - their debut album, The Spirit of Apollo , features a veritable who's who of indie-rock, rap and DJ legends, including David Byrne , Tom Waits , M.I.A. , Kanye West , the Yeah Yeah Yeahs , Scarface , the Wu-Tang Clan , Chuck D and [...]

What on earth is Sizzla on about here? Did he just need a word that would make rhymes for both 'family' and 'millions'?
the iTunes playlist: RZA Robert Diggs is the man behind Wu-Tang, he is also producing a hot track on Dr. Dre's upcoming album, Detox. He is a bad man when it comes to chess, and probably knows a lot about Lost too. RZA has stated Ennio Morricone, Syl Johnson, Marley Marl, Augustus Pablo and Danny Elfman as [...]

Electric. Electro? I don't know. Non-breakbeat genres confuse me. This sounds like a yellow puppet flatlining.
