Unwed Mothers - Eponymous LP cover Opening with Skeletons a track you will know from the video if you [...]
We saw this incredible cover of Yeah Yeah Yeah’s “Skeletons” by Of Monsters and Men in person and our world was permanently changed. Thankfully, the live recording has been put on Soundcloud for the masses to sing together and rejoice. Source
Skeleton Beach 's debut made quite an impression on us. Half Life has easily been a favorite of ours in the first quarter of 2013. One might say to themselves,"Well then. This is a nice thing to have and make my life a little better." While others, like ourselves, say,"You know what this needs? Surfing. No, wait... LOTS of surfing." And so, the VS video team began its search to find the proper film to pair with Skeleton Beach's 'Clear'. In the end, it became obvious that North Shore was a natural [...]
I love it when I find a new band, only to discover that they are not exactly new. Just new to me. I scroll through their SoundCloud and find music added a year or more ago. I scroll back to the top and see music added just this month. Even though it was a particular song that may have brought me there, I stay and listen to the evolution of the band. In this Playlisted, I've taken a few examples of bands with a history. For each band, I have chosen two killer tunes: a Then, and a [...]

They recently were voted in the No 2 Winner of Triple J Australia's annual Hottest 100, as well they are performing in one of the best Aussie summer festivals, Laneway Festival, this week. Today, they stopped by to visit Tom and Alex and perform a Like A Version with a brilliant cover of the Yeah Yeah Yeah's "Skeletons". If London based quartet ‘The Disraeli Gears’ used Cream’s second album as an influence for their name, they certainly did not adopt any of the sounds of the sixties supergroup. Instead début release ‘Skeleton’ is a swirling, atmospheric epic that opens as if it were the soundtrack to a cinematic swoop over the smoke covered aftermath of a battle scene and ends with a powerful two minute instrumental suited to deeds of the intensely heroic nature. The subdued yet captivating vocals of Teia Fregona sit perfectly over an undulating fusion of sounds, the most notable of which [...]
"Skeletons" is a number-one Funk & R&B single by Stevie Wonder, released in 1987 from his album, 'Characters'. The song is a funk, r&b jam about lies and deceptions being uncovered. We present it to you today in another form. Ziggy Phunk pimped it his way, adding drums, some good old claps here, there, extended the bad mama jamma and gave the track a whole new life, we previously posted a rather cool re-edit/mashup of his ( check it out here too ) Stevie Wonder - Skeletons (Ziggy Phunk Skeletons In Your Closet [...]

Whether it be the Technicolor wanderings of The Merry Pranksters in The Electric Kool-Aid Acid Test , or the echoing thrills of grade school field trips, the simple image of a bus exudes a certain romanticism that coexists with the manic pursuit of the road ahead. Skeletons , originally the brainchild of the Ohio-based instrumental aficionado Matt Mehlan, plucks at the intricate complexities that exist within traditional orchestral music - much like travel deconstructs our notion of distance. The Bus , Skeletons’ latest release, picks up that particular thread of wanderlust riding alongside you on distant highways. Skeletons' music belies [...]
Photo by G. Michael Jackson Skeleton Michael Jackson would have been celebrating another birthday today. But he took drugs and died, so he hardly gives a fuck. The moral of this story - celebrate people while they are alive because jumping on the band wagon after they die makes you complicit in their death. Or not. [...]
