► Back in August, Athens, Ga., trio the Whigs did a little KCSN / Buzz Bands LA-presented show at the Federal Bar in North Hollywood and rocked the joint in a way that befitted the title of their new, fourth album, "Enjoy the Company." Tonight they pay L.A. another visit, playing the Bootleg Bar supported by the most excellent local trio the Record Company . Filed under: Video of the Day Artist : Skyline Pigeons Video: "Lucid" Highlight: "The video definitely reflected the internal loneliness one can feel at times, even when they are surrounded by people," Singer Caroline Teti told Spinner. Singer Roxanne Teti added, "Film-wise, we wanted 'Lucid' to feel like a stylistic documentary, something that captures reality and communicates authenticity while also still possessing a voyeuristic vibe full of abstract moments. It definitely feels inspired by the cinema vérité movement." [...]
Filed under: Monthly Mixtape Flickr For the past 30 days, we've sat here wondering what next month will bring. Will July bear more jobs, better pay, less zombies and no more EDM? Will my 16-year-old brother actually pass his driver's test? Will we accept that Anderson Cooper is a gay man? Who's to say? What I do know is this, we have 30 songs for you to plunder and ponder. We started off June with a [...]
Los Angeles-based quintet Skyline Pigeon s dabble in a few different musical styles. Led by sisters Caroline and Roxanne Teti, they slide from laid-back dreampop into upbeat rock melodies and back several times, merely in the first half of their debut record. An organ gently hums under husky vocals and an undulating bass line in “The Cycle”, a '50s pop-influenced number highlighted [...]

So, in a sense, they took the time to reflect after that traumatic experience and decided to channel their grief toward healing by creative expression. Through Roxanne and Caroline's harmonic interplay, House [...]
