The Shady Records crew is back at it as Slaughterhouse releases their newest track "Weight Scale". This is a very different song in the sense that it has the sound a vibe of a freestyle, as they trade the mic around and spit mad heat with their clever rhymes and steady choppin' up the beat. Slaughterhouse is notorious for their incredible freestyles and rapping straight from the dome, and in "Weight Scale" I found myself rewinded the song a couple times to just make I heard it right. Twisting words left and right really [...]

“This is how real it is/ When I ghostwrite for niggas, I’m speaking through them, I’m really just a ventriloquist” Before the release of their welcome to: OUR HOUSE on August 28th, the Slaughterhouse crew plans to release a Gangsta Grillz mixtape with DJ Drama. The first release from the mixtape " Weight Scale" sees the four-man crew rip into Nas' “Nasty". Slaughterhouse – Weight Scale is a post from: That [...]
Until their Shady Records debut actually drops (and, in all likelihood, even then), a Slaughterhouse release will fall miles away from the mainstream's attention. The hardcore foursome is still out [...]

A month away from their sophomore release Welcome to: Our House , Slaughterhouse drop their track "Weight Scale." The track covers Nas' single "Nasty," and the Hip-Hop supergroup each with their bare-knuckle verses. Check the track below.

"What would I stop for? Knowing I need more gwop for my sock drawer." While we're waiting for the official Slaughterhous e LP, Welcome To Our House , we will get new material from the foursome in the form of the DJ Drama hosted Gangsta Grillz. That is supposed to be dropping on August 28th. Today Drama released the new record, "Weight Scale", which features The House go in something serious on Nas' "Nasty". This is mean.

Slaughterhouse are dropping a mixtape before they release their debut full length on Shady Records . The Gangsta Grillz mixtape is untitled as of now, but sounds like it will be the all-star squad going in on other people's beats. "Weight Scale" is a great first leak. Over that "Nasty" beat. I know I can't be the only person who thinks that Slaughterhouse should be focusing on tracks like "Weight Scale". And by that I mean tracks where they just rap, rap, and RAP over killer production. Of course, in this case they have lucked out by hopping on Salaam Remi's beat for "Nasty", as "Weight Scale" will appear on the quartet's upcoming mixtape with DJ Drama. So what's everyone think? Who had the best verse here and are you looking forward to the mixtape? [ via ]

A consensus pick as one of last year's top albums, the momentum behind Ty Segall's Goodbye Bread has already carried over into 2012 with the San Fransisco garage punk's collaboration with White Fence (Tim Presley). Listenability an increasingly moot concern, Segall continued his breakneck string of acclaimed albums about a month back with Slaughterhouse , released under the Ty Segall Band moniker, recording alongside longtime collaborator Mikal Cronin, guitarist Charles Moothart, and drummer Emily Rose Epstein. The album is invariably powerful, and undeniably good. Which, oddly enough, might somehow detract from its impact. History has [...]
Although their label affiliation and Twitter numbers may indicate that Slaughterhouse has hit the mainstream, the foursome remains a standard-bearer for the lyrical underground of Hip-Hop. With that being the [...]

El-P got tagged by Shady Records to give a remix to Slaughterhouse's "Hammer Dance". El-P adds his dusty-futuristic touch to the Slaughterhouse banger. Check it out below. And check for El-P on tour right now with Killer Mike and MFN' eXquire .

El-P 's hot streak continues. With two of the year's most critically celebrated albums under his belt already, the curmudgeonly Brooklynite slaps his signature retro-future synths and jackhammer drums on his remix of the fittingly titled "Hammer Dance"-the latest single from pure rap's Voltron, Slaughterhouse. El's driving beat sounds like the best apocalyptic party any of us will ever have the pleasure of attending, a propulsive foundation for Joell Ortiz, Crooked I, Joe Budden, and Royce da 5'93 to build razor sharp flows atop. Top 40 music "Hammer Dance" certainly isn't, but if you need a [...]

One of the hottest producers right now, Araabmuzik , has just been totally shown up by hip-hop veteran, El-P . Yeah, the original Slaughterhouse cut, " Hammer Dance ", was a rather awesome track. But look, 2012 is El-P's year, and he brought this banger to a whole new level. With heavy throwback samples and percussion, it makes me wonder why the Shady MCs didn't enlist the former Def Jux producer to do this track in the first place. Either way, I am happy we are getting around to hearing it now. Slaughterhouse's Welcome To: Our [...]

As I debate on drinking vodka before noon our buddies over at Stereogum drop the craziest bombshell of the day consisting of an El-P remix of rap supergroup Slaughterhouse 's (Joe Budden, Royce Da 5'9", Crooked I and Joell Ortiz) latest single "Hammer Dance." This remix, as much of El's track record to date (see: Killer Mike 's R.A.P. Music and Cancer 4 Cure), fuckin bangs harder than...I had to stop that sentence because i'm pretty sure it was leading to something inappropriate. But trust me, Slaughterhouse x El-P, WOULD YOU REALLY WANT [...]

As rap supergroup Slaughterhouse - Joe Budden, Joell Ortiz and Royce da 5'9" - pres their second studio album for late summer release, here's a remix of their recent single " Hammer Dance " put together by El-P. He turns it into a raucous, scratch-laden partystarter, conjuring the maximalist feel of late '80s/early '90s rap and dance music. It's awesome. Stream it below. Read More...

It's not like Ty Segall has been recording yacht rock for the past few years but, man, does he bring it on his latest album, Slaughterhouse . The songs are harder, faster and all-around more intense. Officially, it's a release by the Ty Segall Band (he recorded it with the guys he takes on tour). I've lost track of how many records he's made, but the prolific one just announced another solo album, Twins , to be released in October. That would be the third album by Segall this year. He also released [...]
