Sleep Good is a band from Austin formed by Will Patterson. The other current band members are Willis McClung, John Kolar and Michael Bain. They released the Monsanto 7" earlier this Summer that was recorded live to tape at Corpus Christi Studios in Austin, TX. You can buy the home-made vinyl at Pau Wau Records . It's always great when you realize one of your favorite local acts is putting out new music. Sleep Good has been quite, at least with recorded tunes, since 2010, but I just figured out that they've recently dropped their new Monsanto 73 . It's definitely a gem, and I'm loving the A-Side "Summer Explosion." Will Patterson's Sleep Good has blossomed over the past couple of years from a bedroom pop project into a full scale outfit that mirrors the rise of his other work with Bill Baird's Sunset. I really dig Real Estate . They're a great band, signed to a great label, with great tracks like "Younger Than Yesterday", which is my favorite one off of their '09 Reality EP . Very down to earth and tangible indie rock, this album boasts a more melancholy side of the group. Beautiful stuff.
