Three days of Bumbershoot later I'm pretty much a jiggling bowl of alcohol-flavored jelly. I thought my boxed-wine bonanza on Sunday would put me over, but I rallied on Monday for a really amazing day of music. Yet, my brain is still recovering (I'm almost talking in un-slurred, full sentences) and through the dry-mouth grey haze of my life only an artist as goddamn energetic as Passion Pit could even make an impression. Call me lazy, but I'm too exhausted for description this morning. Blame Bumbershoot, blame boxed wine and Man Man and Dan Deacon and those goddamn overpriced beer [...]

Get Out Of My Inbox Every day I get ready to post what I have prepared and then I get sidetracked by my Inbox or some upload on my friends servers. I always end up with leftovers. I am now currently way overloaded so heres a few tracks that I can now file away knowing that have been fully shared with my faithful. DL : Ladyhawke - Dusk Till Dawn (Linus Loves remix) . DL : Ronin E-Ville - Phoxy [...]
Passion Pit is an infectious new band from Boston with a sweet little back-story. Frontman/mastermind/good boyfriend(?) Michael Angelakos originally wrote and recorded four of the six songs on Passion Pit's upcoming Chunk Of Change EP as a belated Valentine's Day present for his girlfriend. All together now: "aww!" But seriously folks, this is no [...]

This is the real thing. I'm always looking out for the next big thing, and I'm convinced that it's Passion Pit . I blogged about these guys earlier last month. Then, they were forkcasted and mentioned (perhaps re-mentioned) on bv . Suddenly, my measly post is getting a lot of hits. And, all for the right reasons. My friend told me that after seeing Radiohead in concert, music would not be the same to me for at least another month. Yes, this is true to a [...]

via LAS magazine Edit: I just listened to some of EP today and it's awesome. The countdown begins. Hailing from the non-Brooklyn city of Boston, Passion Pit was introduced to me by someone who sits a couple seats away from me every day and not by choice (Thanks, Nick!). I wish I could recall the exact words he used to describe Passion Pit, but all I remember is MGMT meets ... 5-6 other bands. The five-piece Passion Pit, led by [...]
I'm not sure how it took me this long to hear Sleepyhead's Punk Rock City USA LP, but it's everything I wanted it to be. Anyone out there who hasn't heard it, please listen to the following song. It makes me wish I was six years and falling in love, and I've always been under the assumptiont hat that's the best thing a song can do. I'd suggest reading a long with the lyrics. [MP3]: Sleepyhead :: Different Colored Letters (Highly Recommended!!) I meet [...]

DOWNLOAD: Sleepyhead, "Whoville" (mp3) Before Low and Bedhead made playing really slow an act of indie virtue (and virtuosity), there was Sleepyhead: a not egregiously sleepy band, but one whose noisy, shambolic-yet-deliberate pop felt identifiably post–Sonic Youth. Their nine-year run ended in '99; co-leaders Chris O'Rourke and Rachel McNally got married, procreated, and moved from NYC to Boston. Both are now teachers in the Newton school system. But they're also making awesome music again: a Sleepyhead album called Red Letter Daze is in production. ( Don't tell Buffalo Tom [...]
