Sleigh Bells' latest album features a high-fidelity recording quality that makes its sound much more palatable than the music on the duo's debut album, Treats. But beyond that, the band hasn't changed its tune all that much. WATCH THE REVIEW

The second Sleigh Bells album, Reign Of Terror , opens with Alexis Krauss screaming at some crowd noise as the guitar begins. It's an abrasive, full on and exciting opening, as was anticipated by fans of the band. The groups first album was one of the best noise-pop albums of recent years. Unafraid to be stupidly loud, unashamedly chaotic and one of the most full on musical experiences available. From this excellent opening the rest of Reign Of Terror would be expected to continue in kind. This is not entirely the case; [...]
In his review of Sleigh Bells' debut album, Treats Pitchfork's Mark Richardson wrote, "They felt like rides at an amusement park, and I'd get a feeling in my stomach when the first notes kicked in: Here we go. Whether it's Broken or Psychocandy or any of the countless other examples of records that exist primarily [...]

Black Bananas – "Rad Times" Jennifer Herrema has fronted bands in various incarnations: first, rock band Royal Trux , which she formed at the age of sixteen with partner Neil Hagerty , and then RTX , and now Black Bananas , which has maintained the same cast as RTX despite the change in moniker. The first record released by the latest formation, Rad Times Xpress IV , dropped [...]

Sleigh Bells Reign of Terror Mom and Pop Before they became the second New York buzz band of 2012 to put in a shit performance for Saturday Night Live , Brooklyn's Sleigh Bells were already a divisive group in the underground. For while there's little doubt their sound is a modern one - Heavy metal guitar riffs lifted from the Mullet Rock compilation, cheery vocals and scattershot, electric beats - There's always been the counter argument, "Is this really the sound of now we want?" You see, subtlety, [...]

En esta ocasión le ha tocado el turno al Reign Of Terror , el recién lanzado álbum de Sleigh Bells . No hay mucho que decir, los números hablan por sí solos: Siendo el segundo disco de los ingleses, ha sido un boom por todos lados.

Happy Presidents Day week, everybody. A commanding list of new releases awaits you in stores today. Among them is the latest by our recent guest and longtime friend of KEXP, Damien Jurado , whose Maraqopa would be good enough to get him elected President of Seattle if there were such a thing. Our Music Director, Don Yates, says the new album "sounds like nothing else in Jurado's illustrious catalog. It's a dynamic and expansive set of adventurous psych-folk with a variety of haunting, well-crafted songs featuring trippy guitar work, atmospheric keyboards, swelling strings and various [...]
